  1. Lunch at Cardiff - Glamorgan declarepublished at 12:57 BST 6 April

    Glamorgan 302 & 218-5 v Yorkshire 226

Lunch is taken a few minutes early at Sophia Gardens following the dismissal of Colin Ingram for 75, which prompts the declaration by Glamorgan.

Ingram comes down the wicket to Dom Bess but hits the ball to Matthew Revis at long-off, having added 65 in 12 overs with Ben Kellaway (28*).

Kiran Carlson made 53 earlier in the morning before playing on to Bess, who finishes with figures of 4-87.

Yorkshire's fourth innings target will be 295 - but there is no Jonny Bairstow, who had to be substituted out of the game with a thumb injury.

  2. 6 runs

for Ben Rainepublished at 12:55 BST 6 April

    Durham 208-8 - lead Kent by 346

16 off the over from Joey Evison with a couple of fours to start and a glorious clip over the deep square rope for six from Ben Raine to finish it, taking him on to 42*.

He and Matty Potts have added 44 at a run a ball and have taken the Durham lead to 346.

  3. wicket

    Zaib c Hurst b Balderson 4 (Northants 50-6 Target 321)

Brilliant bowling and even better glovework from Matty Hurst as Saif Zaib is sent on his way.

Standing up to the stumps unsettles batsmen who cannot play their normal game but it is a high risk reward tactic unless you have a very assured keeper.

George Balderson is bowling very tight lines and, more importantly, brilliant length and Saif Zaib has edged a defensive shot and Hurst has grabbed it.

Top work from Lancs who have Northants on the ropes with lunch approaching.

  4. 6 runs

for Tom Lammonbypublished at 12:53 BST 6 April

    Somerset 347 & 352-4 v Notts 338

Tom Lammonby gets down on one knee to hoik Liam Patterson-White over the long-on boundary for six, with Rob Lord only able to watch it sail over his (already very high) head on the rope.

  5. new ball

New ballpublished at 12:50 BST 6 April

    Middx 445-9d v Glocs 216 & 162-5

Ryan Higgins has the new ball in his hand and the feeling that this game could move in a significant manner before lunch is in the air.

Glocs's Graeme van Buuren and Oli Price have dug in well since Seb Morgan's double wicket burst earlier.

Can they can get through the next couple of overs?

  6. 50 runs

for Tom Lammonbypublished at 12:49 BST 6 April

    Somerset 347 & 342-4 v Notts 338

Tom Lammonby took 16 balls to get off the mark but he has brought up a half-century from 70 deliveries with a single off Lyndon James.

He's hit six boundaries along the way and the stand-in skipper has guided his side to a lead in excess of 350.

  7. Postpublished at 12:48 BST 6 April

    Durham 188-8 - lead Kent by 324

Many people (including some on the field by the looks of things) wondering if Durham might be tempted to declare to allow them an over or two at the Kent openers before lunch, or if they will do so on the eve of the interval to preserve the couple of overs for the change of innings.

Matty Potts (11*) and Ben Raine (34*) have kept ticking along and the lead is up to 326 with 70 overs remaining in the day.

  8. Postpublished at 12:43 BST 6 April

    Somerset 347 & 333-4 v Notts 338

80 overs are up at Taunton but Liam Patterson-White is going to get at least one more with the old ball.

His 32nd, having bowled through the morning and late last night too.

    The lead is 342.

  9. 200 runs

up for Glamorganpublished at 12:41 BST 6 April

    Glamorgan 302 & 200-4 v Yorks 226

Glamorgan really getting on with it now. Ben Kellaway goes down on one knee and hoists Jack White out to deep mid-wicket where the Yorkshire fielders are unable to prevent it trickling onto the rope.

The lead is 276 and the Welsh county are clearly targeting a declaration.

James Rew has to play. 12 centuries by 22 years old is absolutely absurd. Generational talent kind of numbers. Get him in that England line up now.

    Alex, Sheffield

Only some chaps called Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar had more in first-class cricket at Rew's age. Anyone know if they went on to do anything in the game?

  11. 50 runs

50 for Dan Lawrencepublished at 12:37 BST 6 April

    Warwickshire 544 v Surrey 328 & 240-3

A nice clip off his toes for a boundary through square leg takes Dan Lawrence to his half century, the tenth 50+ score of the match.

The 28-year-old former Essex player last appeared in a test match for England at the end of the 2024 season.

  12. Postpublished at 12:37 BST 6 April

    Northants 258 & 44-5 v Lancs 384 & 194

Hurrah! A first boundary in 116 deliveries comes from Saif Zaib as he spins on his heel and pulls Ajeet Singh Dale through square leg.

Lancs were interested briefly as Tom Bailey was close to it but it races to the boundary after clearing the seamer.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:35 BST 6 April

    Abell c Haynes b Patterson-White 42 (Somerset 347 & 323-4 v Notts 338)

42 from 37 balls but Tom Abell has to go.

He tries to launch Liam Patterson-White over cow corner but doesn't get all of it and is caught just inside the rope by Jack Haynes running around from long-on.

3-141 for LPW in his 31st over.

Lewis Goldsworthy joins Tom Lammonby in the middle with Somerset 331 ahead with six wickets standing.

A lead of 400+ by lunch is what the hosts will be looking for.

  14. wicket

    Cox c Carson b Hudson-Prentice 60 (Leics 203-7 - target 481)

    Fynn Hudson-PrenticeImage source, Shutterstock

Fynn Hudson-Prentice strikes again - and Sussex have a double breakthrough at Grace Road.

Ben Cox pulls a short of a length delivery but picks out Jack Carson in the deep and his 100-ball innings come to an end - it's a wicket maiden for FHP.

Leicestershire not quite done yet - Ben Green and Tom Scriven are both better with the bat than genuine tail-enders.

  15. Postpublished at 12:31 BST 6 April

    Glamorgan 302 & 182-4 v Yorks 226

Ben Kellaway tries a switch-hit at the start of a new Jack White over but makes no contact.

The next one is greeted with an attempted reverse sweep - that doesn't work either.

By way of something different, he stands up tall for the third and belts it down the ground for four.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:31 BST 6 April

    McSweeney c Wells b Balderson 6 (Northants 39-5 Target 321)

This is tilting Lancs way now as the Nathan McSweeney slowly makes his way from the middle.

George Balderson nearly got the edge with Matty Hurst standing up to the stumps with the previous delivery.

Now he gets one to spit up off the pitch with McSweeney pinned back in the crease and it takes a bit of bat shoulder and glove and loops to Luke Wells at gully who dives for a low grab.

Lancs have bowled brilliantly this morning loading the pressure on a Northants top order who have shown precious little ability or desire to break the shackles.

They are halfway there now and the win looks in sight.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:31 BST 6 April

    Aldridge b Stewart 18 (Durham 164-8 - lead Kent by 302)

Stump revenge as Grant Stewart uproots Kasey Aldridge's middle stump, just as the Durham man did to him on day two.

Aldridge tries to pull Stewart through mid-wicket but misses the ball and is bowled after a handy stand of 46 from 11 overs.

Kent are two wickets away as Matthew Potts joins Ben Raine with a lead just north of 300.

  18. Postpublished at 12:28 BST 6 April

    Somerset 347 & 315-3 v Notts 338

Somerset getting into one-day mode by the looks of things.

After a slow start Tom Lammonby is heating up with back-to-back boundaries off Liam Patterson-White, whose 30th over goes for 12.

Three more until the fresh cherry is available to the champions, who are 324 in arrears.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:25 BST 6 April

    Eskinazi b Hudson-Prentice 54 (Leics 202-6 - target 481)

    Agony for Stevie Eskinazi.

He appears to be contemplating a run-down to third man but changes his mind and the ball flattens middle stump via the inside edge.

A good innings - adding 103 with Ben Cox - but that's just the lift Sussex needed half an hour before lunch.

Kingram at 40 looking comfortably the best bat in the game. Crazy call, but I reckon Colin will end up the highest overseas run scorer in Division 1

    Steve, Luton

Early shout from Steve, but who do you think will be top of the pile in late September?
