That is bread and butter for Sanju Samson. The wrong choice of delivery from Jofra Archer and he knows it.

Jofra Archer might have got the better of Sanju Samson in the recent bilateral series between these sides.

But Sanju Samson is emerging as the clear winner in this contest today as he deposits the England pacer over the rope at backward point.

Shivam Dube has improved his play against fast-bowling in the last year so he needs to open himself up to hit into the off-side.

He is going to swing through the line as much as he can.

  4. Ind 145-2published at 12.2 overs

Jofra Archer is back into the attack for England.

And he begins with two dot balls against Shivam Dube - a rarity today!

Outstanding cricket. The game awareness and thinking is spot on from India.

Liam Dawson has bowled well in this tournament but it would be a risk for England to bring him on now.

  7. Ind 145-2published at 12 overs

India's current run rate is at 12.08 and they are 145-2 after 12 overs.

What do you think the defending champions will be aiming for here?

There are lots of chants, cheers, oohs and aahs around at Wankhede Stadium, as drama unfolds on each ball.

Crowds are louder especially in the North Stand (Dilip Vengsarkar stand). This is the corner of Wankhede, that houses people of the city who are known to love cricket from heart.

They are ardent followers of the game, sporting enough to applaud the opponents at times.

Today, they have found a new chant, cheering their hero 'Sanju… Samson, Sanju… Samson’. There are ‘dhol' drums rolling too, pumping up fans.

One can’t help but admire this India batter, it feels like he is continuing the innings he started in previous game - at Eden Gardens against West Indies.

Shivam Dube is there to deal with Adil Rashid. This move could really work for India.

    Shivam Dube does it again.

Same part of the ground and the same result for the India southpaw.

14 runs from Adil Rashid's over with one more ball to go.

Clear tactic from the seamers - bringing the length back against Dube to restrict his scoring. The left-hander strikes at just 128 against the short ball - far lower than his scoring rate against full and good length deliveries.

  13. 6 runs

    Ind 136-2published at 11.1 overs

Shivam Dube has taken his time to get going after being promoted up India's batting order.

But after three runs from his first four balls, he goes after Adil Rashid's first ball of the 12th over, launching him over wide long-on for a six.

India cannot be thinking 250. They cannot afford to lose two or three wickets in a cluster and then struggle to get to 200.

    They need to be strategic.

  15. Ind 130-2published at 11 overs

Jamie Overton does well to come back with only four more runs coming off his over.

India are still cruising with almost 12 runs an over and they'll be eyeing a huge total here - especially considering the dew factor to come later on.

At the halfway mark of the innings, India have amassed their second highest score of any team so far in this competition, falling just short of the 120 they scored against Namibia. They have done so whilst playing just 9.5% false shots - lower than their figure against Namibia.

You get the feeling that the change in the India batting order, binging Shivam Dube in, is to keep the momentum going.

    No stopping Sanju Samson though!

He clobbers Jamie Overton for a six down the ground to put England onto their backfoot again early in the over.

  20. Super Samsonpublished at 14:18 GMT 5 March

Sanju Samson was dropped by Harry Brook on 15...

Since then, he's flown to his half-century off 26 balls and is unbeaten on 67 (34), including eight fours and four sixes.
