A savage strike from Shivam Dube. He holds his bat at the top of his swing for a second which allowed him to hit that ball straight.

The Indians do just seem to slog it and not care. It is frustrating from an English perspective when we see them do it and fail.

I get the frustration, but Sanju Samson’s knock was anything but a slog. It was a really calculated innings and here’s Rufus to back it up…

Sam Curran is under a bit of pressure. England need all the help they can get from everyone - they have been slightly sloppy in the field so far.

Sam Curran begins his over with a full toss but Shivam Dube doesn't capitalise fully.

But India still manage to run two after Jacob Bethell fumbles at long-on.

India need to not lose wickets in pairs now. You have seen it so often when teams lose another wicket in the over.

That was a very clever piece of bowling from Will Jacks. He kept the ball far from Sanju Samson's batting arc and asked whether he can clear him. The right field was set too.

What a superb innings - it will still hurt England.

Sanju Samson departs for 89 from 42 balls!

Will Jacks gets the India batter but only after the opener has provided the co-hosts the perfect platform to build on.
