George Munsey and Michael Jones to open for Scotland.

Munsey has been playing in the ILT20 so has been playing some cricket during the winter.

Jones had been in pre-season with Lancashire, running up Rivington Pike in Bolton.

One of Scotland’s youngest players, 21-year-old Olly Davidson, says the team feels "very grateful to be at the World Cup".

It's been an unexpectedly busy few weeks for the squad, who were suddenly thrust into the tournament after Bangladesh's decision to pull out of the tournament in India and Sri Lanka.

But Olly says the last-minute decision means they’re feeling “less added pressure” before their first game against the West Indies.

The left-arm spinning all-rounder says "vibes are high" in the camp and they’re looking to win - but haven’t forgotten why they’re there.

"We feel massively for Bangladesh," he says. "We've been given a life because of them and we're very lucky for that."

And Olly says whatever happens, they will try their "best to make Scotland proud".

    Thanks, Adwaidh.

A good effort by Scotland at Eden Gardens but a big ask to chase this down.

If they pull this off it would be the highest successful chase at the ground in T20 internationals.

India's successful pursuit of West Indies' 157-7 in February 2022 is the highest to date.

That’s it from me for now.

But my colleague Timothy Abraham is here to guide you through Scotland's chase.

    Over to you, Tim.

I think Scotland had a fantastic start and in the powerplay and they closed out exceptionally well. There was a big period in the middle where the West Indies were dominating the game, that innings by Shimron Hetmyer was the key.

The game is in the balance. If someone in the top order can get in and get going then you never know!

  8. West Indies post 182-5published at 20 overs

A dot ball to end the innings from Brad Currie.

Scotland can be pleased with themselves here and despite West Indies threatening to run away in the middle overs, the Scots have limited their opponents to 182-5 in Kolkata.

  9. 6 runs

    WI 182-5published at 19.5 overs

Only one from Brad Currie's first four balls of the final over.

But Romario Shepherd gets under a low full toss and hits it straight back over the bowler's head for a much-needed six.

Brad Currie has been excellent, he's been the pick of the Scottish bowlers today. After the first ball of the day, he's really been on the money so it's well deserved that he's picked up his second wicket of the day.

    Another wicket for Scotland!

We spoke how dangerous Sherfane Rutherford and Shimron Hetmyer would be during the final balls, but both the West Indies batter are now gone as Rutherford falls to Brad Currie's slower ball.

He holes out to Michael Jones at deep cover to return to the dugout after a quick 26.

That was fantastic work in the deep. Catches like that and fielding like that can make massive inroads. It's game changing.

It's not a good delivery by Safyaan Sharif, there's no hiding behind that, but he's come out of the over with the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer.

What a catch from Brandon McMullen at long-on!

Shimron Hetmyer swings at a full toss from Safyaan Sharif but McMullen dives forward low and just about gets his fingertip under the ball to dismiss the dangerous West Indies batter.

Hetmyer departs after the fastest 50 by a West Indian at a T20 World Cup!

  14. 162-3published at 18 overs

Two singles to end Mark Watt's over but West Indies have still found 13 from it.

Two overs left, and with Sherfane Rutherford and Shimron Hetmyer both in fine touch, Scotland have a tricky finish ahead.

  15. 6 runs

    160-3published at 17.4 overs

Scotland lose the review as replays show Sherfane Rutherford got an inside edge on it before the ball hits his pad.

And rubbing salt into their wound, Rutherford sends Mark Watt for six over extra cover the very next ball!

  16. Umpire reviewpublished at 17.3 overs

    WI 154-3

Sherfane Rutherford has been effortlessly finding gaps in the field after coming on.

But he mistimes one and it hits his pad and Scotland feel they have enough to send it upstairs for a review.

  17. WI 154-3published at 17 overs

Sherfane Rutherford gets straight into action with back-to-back boundaries off Michael Leask.

Leask, who picked up the big wicket of Shai Hope, finishing with figures of 1-42, with 14 of those runs coming in his fourth and final over.

  18. WI 140-3published at 16 overs

Just two runs and a wicket from Brad Currie's over.

Four overs left as Sherfane Rutherford joins Shimron Hetmyer in the middle.

Scotland certainly needed that wicket. Brad Currie forced Rovman Powell to go after one that wasn't quite in his hitting arc. Scotland will have wished for that a few overs earlier but they will take that now.

    Powell c Jones b Currie 24 (WI 139-3)

    Rovman Powell departs.

The West Indies goes for another big hit through the leg side but doesn't connect cleanly enough and it's gobbled up by Michael Jones near the rope.

Brad Currie is fired up after getting his first victim of the day.
