  1. 200 runs

200 up for Somersetpublished at 12:37 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 203-6 - target 287

Despite seeing his partners come and go, Tom Abell continues to play assured and controlled shots.

He keeps a shot on the pull down beautifully to the boundary and thus Somerset move past the 200 mark.

Get Involved - lots of calls for Anderson's returnpublished at 12:35 BST 20 April

    James AndersonImage source, Getty Images

Personal politics of Jimmy Anderson being pushed to retire, is there any reason he couldn't/shouldn't be back in the team? He's still holding up and bowling well, where our current front line appear not able to. If Woakes isn't injured still, he might also have to come back!

    Joe, Yorkshire

Who's ready for an England call up? Jimmy Anderson.

    David, Bedford

If England players are picked on form, Sir James Anderson would be opening the bowling. Taking his wickets at 13 this season - amazing.

    Andrew, Preston

That guy Jimmy Anderson looks good... Great figures across both innings. Surely he's in with a shout of a call from Baz?

    Adam, Birmingham

Pretty clear who people want to see back in an England shirt then!

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:30 BST 20 April

    Overton b Dawson 4 (Hants v Somerset 197-6 - target 287)

    NOW THEN.

Liam Dawson tosses one up and Craig Overton goes for the old heave-ho over cow corner which misses his off-stump by inches.

Two balls later, it's déjà vu, and Overton once again looks to mow rather agriculturally but completely misses it and sees his middle and off clattered into.

Not the shot of a man who has been impressive with the bat so far this season.

Hampshire smell something here - they need just four wickets, Somerset need another 90 runs.

This one is on a knife edge.

  4. Postpublished at 12:30 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 60-5 - target: 206

Essex's Michael Pepper is on a pair, having made a second-ball duck in the first innings.

He is also yet to score after 21 deliveries this time around, surviving a skittish prod which misses the bat and goes through to the keeper.

  5. Hampshire v Somerset in the balancepublished at 12:27 BST 20 April

    Somerset 195-5 v Hampshire - target 287

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Every time Somerset begin to look comfortable, they lose a wicket.

There is a tense feeling all around and even in the commentary box!

  6. Postpublished at 12:26 BST 20 April

    Northants v Middx 168-1 (lead by 100)

Sam Robson and Max Holden continue to score in a combination of singles and some boundaries to take the Middlesex lead to 100.

Holden then pulls for another four - the 13th of his innings - to move to 73 not out and go ahead of his partner Robson, who is on 72.

  7. 150 runs

150 up for Lancashirepublished at 12:25 BST 20 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 150-5 - target 202

Arav Shetty nudges a single into the off side to get off the mark and Lancashire move onto 150.

    Just 52 more required now.

  8. Smeed goes for 22published at 12:24 BST 20 April

    Somerset 193-5 v Hampshire - target: 287

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

Somerset were going well with a steady partnership building between Abell and Smeed, but the latter is caught at point chasing a short and wide delivery.

A disappointing end for Smeed, who has made clear his aspirations to consistently play red-ball cricket for Somerset.

With Abell playing nicely, Smeed had the chance to play the steady supporting role, and had been doing it well until losing his wicket to a loose shot.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:20 BST 20 April

    Smeed c Lehmann b Jack 22 (Hants v Somerset 188-5 - target 287)

What a terrific catch - Somerset are five down now!

Will Smeed chases a wide one and can't keep it down.

It flies to Jake Lehmann at point, and the Australian makes a terrific catch to his right.

Smeed was dropped at a similar position earlier in the innings but this time he has to go. Craig Overton walks to the crease.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:16 BST 20 April

    Hurst c Boorman b Williams 8 (Gloucs v Lancs 143-5 - target 202)

No one said it would be easy - Will Williams strikes again for Gloucestershire!

With his final ball of the over, Williams bowls one leg side and Matty Hurst tries to flick one over mid-wicket but it goes straight up in the air and it is an easy catch for Tommy Boorman.

Hurst will have to drag himself off - he looks distraught. Arav Shetty walks to the crease for Lancashire.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Tom Abellpublished at 12:13 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 185-4 - target 287

Somerset have all the time in the world today if they require it and, right now, they look satisfied to do this in singles.

A nice drive through the covers is well gathered by Eddie Jack but it means Tom Abell moves onto 51 - his 42nd first-class half-century for Somerset.

Their target is just 102 runs away.

  12. Gloucestershire make breakthroughpublished at 12:08 BST 20 April

    Lancs 137-4 v Gloucs - target: 202

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

Jones departs for 30 after a tidy catch by Bancroft at second slip off the bowling of Williams.

After attempting a futile short-ball plan from the other end to force a breakthrough, it is Williams who takes the wicket.

Jones plays at an excellent delivery that nips away off a good length.

Williams has the keeper up but continues to bowl that difficult length. There is something in having the keeper standing up, forcing the batsman into his crease.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:07 BST 20 April

    Walter c Barker b Barnard 8 (Essex 58-5 v Warks - target: 206)

Keith Barker's spell of bowling is over - but you can't keep him out of the game!

Paul Walter had been so patient, taking up 45 deliveries for his eight runs, but in Ed Barnard's first over, he tries to up the ante - and pays the price.

Walter attempted to loft Barnard over the top and Barker makes a really smart catch.

The hosts well on top now.

  14. Postpublished at 12:06 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 179-4 - target 287

Quietly another partnership is blossoming for Somerset.

Tom Abell is digging in nicely, partnered by Will Smeed, as Somerset need another 108 runs with six wickets remaining.

  15. Postpublished at 12:06 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 58-4 (target: 206)

And Gilchrist's first over goes for 13, after back-to-back boundaries to finish.

Luc Benkeinstein is first on to his back foot to forcefully cut away for four, before a really bizarre one as he tries to pull the bat (and his body) away from a lifter, but - without looking - manages to deflect the ball up over the wicket-keeper and slip cordon to the rope.

Benkenstein has had some fortune today, but Essex will take these runs any way they can.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Keaton Jenningspublished at 12:03 BST 20 April

    Gloucs 129-4 v Lancs - target 202

    Keaton JenningsImage source, Shutterstock

A gritty half-century by Keaton Jennings.

He pushes a single into the off side to keep the strike and that brings up his 50.

It's been a patient innings by the Lancashire opener, who has seen 128 balls so far.

  17. 50 up for Essexpublished at 12:02 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 50-4 (target: 206)

After a first hour in which Keith Barker and Ethan Bamber bowled unchanged, Nathan Gilchrist now comes on for the latter.

Luc Benkenstein clips Gilchrist's second delivery to the mid-wicket boundary to bring up the 50 for Essex - a reminder that earlier they were 21-4.

They need another 156 to win.

  18. Not outpublished at 12:01 BST 20 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 125-4 - target 287

Oh my word - what a let-off for Lancashire!!

What a delivery from Henry Brookes and he finds the outside edge of Keaton Jennings (48). James Bracey does the rest behind the stumps, making a simple catch.

Brookes has over-stepped his mark though. Gloucestershire look devastated and the scorer will instead be writing down NB - two runs to Lancashire.

Get Involved - who deserves an England call?published at 12:00 BST 20 April

Test Cricket. Sam Hain. End of conversation.

    Scott, Redditch

Given that at the moment, Josh Tongue seems to be the only England seamer bowling in the county game, Cook should definitely get a run, and as a real left field, Alfie Ogborne, who is rough and raw and has lots of good attributes.

    Stephan, Sheffield

Tend to think it won't matter as the current set up pays only lip service to the County game.

    Ian, Belfast

  20. Big appealpublished at 11:56 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 39-4 - target: 206

Ethan Bamber thought he had another for a moment there, with Luc Benkenstein beaten - but it was just that, and no feather of an edge through to the wicket keeper, despite the fervent appeals.
