Get Involved - sympathy for winless Glospublished at 14:48 BST 20 April

Very sad to see the county of Grace, Jessop, Hammond and more recently Proctor and Walsh sitting at the bottom of the table and winless despite the best efforts of Mark Alleyne. Glos have sadly suffered with the marginalisation of the second tier teams it seems.

    Gary, Northamptonshire

Lancashire once again displaying the fragility of our batting line-up. But a win is a win (albeit without any batting points). Feel for Gloucestershire. A good fightback from the first innings but, even against a batting line up such as ours, 130-odd always put them on the back foot.

Antony, Gloucestershire (but a proud Lancastrian)

Glos lost so many players in recent years. Ryan Higgins (Middlesex), Tom Price (Sussex), Nowell and Miles (Warwickshire) - Miles back now. Chris Dent Tom Smith retirements. Benny Howell's also finished. Their fastest bowler Singh Dale gone to Lancashire. They are marginalised as they are not getting the full benefits of The Hundred.

    Mark, Carmarthen

50 for Leus Du Plooypublished at 14:47 BST 20 April

    Northants v Middx 299-2 (lead by 231)

The Middlesex skipper raises his bat after hitting Calvin Harrison for a boundary.

The lights are now just flickering on at Northampton.

  3. Postpublished at 14:45 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 261-6 - target 287

    Change of bowling for Hampshire.

Sonny Baker was excellent in the evening session yesterday and will have to find something similarly special now.

This seventh-wicket partnership is now worth 64.

With the second ball, Baker gets one to nip back in enormously but it goes over Tom Abell's off stump. A good leave from Abell (87 not out).

  4. Postpublished at 14:45 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 118-8, target 206

All gone a little quiet at Edgbaston. Four overs since the last boundary. Simon Harmer is chipping away at the target - he's on 20.

Zaman Akhter is now with him. He has a first-class average of 24. Even that wouldn't be enough for Essex right now.

Fifty overs have been bowled. Essex need 88 more.

  5. Du Plooy standing strongpublished at 14:45 BST 20 April

    Middlesex 294-2 v Northants - lead by 220

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London commentator

Leus du Plooy hits a flatter delivery for four from Saif Zaib dismissively, a beautiful shot square of the wicket.

He remains completely unphased, cool, calm, and measured.

    Crunch.

Too much width from Codi Yusuf and Lewis Gregory sees this all the way, creaming through the covers for four.

  7. Postpublished at 14:41 BST 20 April

    Northants v Middx 290-2 (lead by 222)

Middlesex are effectively 222-2. You can either skip like David Shepherd, or do a Richie Benaud impression.

  8. Postpublished at 14:38 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 257-6 - target 287

Glorious shot - one in which a new ball will just race away and give a fielder no chance.

Tom Abell whips through mid-wicket for four.

Exactly 30 more needed now for Somerset.

  9. Postpublished at 14:36 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 253-6 - target 287

Kyle Abbott hasn't given up on this one yet.

He continues to steam in, orange soles flicking up day four dust, as Tom Abell continues to defend and look to pick up a single here and there.

This is a good battle between the two.

  10. Thompson joins the party at Edgbastonpublished at 14:35 BST 20 April

    Essex 112-8, target 207

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

Jordan Thompson takes his first of the innings and charges down the pitch in celebration. A passionate celebration from a passionate player!A full-ish delivery on fifth stump and Snater tries to drive, but he edges and is magnificently caught by Alex Davies who dives to his right.

And another for Warwickshire! Shane Snater goes now.

Jordan Thompson gets one in the corridor of uncertainty and Snater edges, with Alex Davies making a smart tumbling catch behind the stumps.

Eight down, two to go. Warwickshire sensing victory now.

  12. 250 runs

250 up for Somersetpublished at 14:30 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 250-6 (target 287)

250 up for Somerset as Tom Abell nudges one into the off side to move onto 80 not out.

Another milestone ticked off by the visitors.

  13. Harmer on the charge?published at 14:29 BST 20 April

Simon Harmer clips away nicely through mid-wicket.

Perfectly safe, beautifully timed along the turf

Listening from Sweden to the Somerset match. (As an ex-pat Devonian.) And on the assumption that my Swedish employers are not monitoring this feed!

    Harvey, Sollentuna

Nice to see we have county cricket being followed in Sweden! We won't give the game away Harvey, it looks set up for a nervy finish between Hampshire and Somerset...

  15. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 14:27 BST 20 April

    Hants v Somerset 247-6 - target 287

Tom Abell whips one away into mid-wicket for a single and that is the 50 partnership between Abell and captain Lewis Gregory.

It's come off 123 balls. Somerset require just 40 now.

  16. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 112-7 - target 206

Ed Barnard returns to the Warwickshire attack.

He bowled six overs without conceding a run this morning - and got the wicket of Paul Walter.

But three balls into his second spell, he is finally worked for a single. Then Simon Harmer clips him through mid-wicket for four.

Slower ball from Kyle Abbott deceives Hampshire wicket-keeper Ben Brown.

The ball seems to just die on him once more and it goes for two byes at long stop.

Hampshire need another breakthrough - and quickly.

The new ball is now due.

  19. 'Ohhh-oh, we're halfway there...'published at 14:22 BST 20 April

    Fire up Bon Jovi.

A forceful stroke off the back foot from Shane Snater beats the infield and rolls apologetically to the boundary rope.

    Essex are 106-7 - 100 required.

  20. 100 up for Essexpublished at 14:19 BST 20 April

    Warks v Essex 100-7 - target 206

Small consolation for Essex fans - but your side is into triple figures now. Shane Snater works Keith Barker away and brings up the 100, for the loss of seven wickets.
