  1. Eng 84-4published at 12 overs

Need 76 runs off 48 balls

Another good over for England. A couple of boundaries, including a powerfully smacked four straight down the ground from Tom Banton. Bowler Glenn Phillips got his fingertips to the ball.

11 from the over, 20 off the past two.

That's the second time we've seen that today. Banton did it himself earlier.

McConchie fumbled it and the ball goes through his hands for four. A rare failure in the field for New Zealand.

    A bonus boundary for Banton.

  4. Eng 78-4published at 11.2 overs

Cole McConchie won't want to see that one again.

Tom Banton would have been briefly concerned that he'd swept the ball straight to McConchie at deep mid-wicket but it bounces in front of the fielder, deceives him, and goes for four.

Great shot from Sam Curran. The ball wasn't that bad, just outside off stump.

That's the first boundary for 16 balls for England as Sam Curran finds the gap.

  7. Eng 73-4published at 11 overs

Need 87 runs in 54 balls

Sam Curran gets England's first boundary since the eighth over, placing the ball into the off-side and just too far away from Daryl Mitchell, chasing round the rope.

Curran plays a near-identical shot through the covers off the next delivery but Mitchell is in place to cut it off for two.

And the next one also comes into the covers. Mitchell, alert, restricts Curran to a single.

Nine runs off Rachin Ravindra's second over. Good running from Curran and Tom Banton.

England are right up against it. The situation is not dire for them but for Pakistan...

  9. How's stat?!published at 16:08 GMT 27 February

    Kieran Parmley
    CricViz analyst

The quality of catching by teams against England has been exemplary this tournament, fielding teams have dropped only three of the 41 catching opportunities England have offered up, a catch success of 92.6%.

This is the highest for any batting line-up and well above the tournament average of 80.6%.

Three singles, two dots, and a two from Glenn Phillips' second over.

At the halfway mark, England need 96 runs from 60 balls.

I don't like that UltraEdge because it was very scratchy and bumpy. You couldn't tell if it was fully synced up.

  13. Not out - Eng 61-4published at 9.2 overs

Tom Banton, down on one knee, gets a little bit of inside edge. He grins unconvincingly.

Glenn Phillips talks to the umpire. He thinks the ball has missed the bat. Not that it matters. The decision's been made.

It was turning too much anyway.

  14. New Zealand reviewpublished at 9.2 overs

Glenn Phillips is convinced he's got Tom Banton lbw.

The umpire doesn't blink, instead finding more interest in his hands.

Phillips pleads with his captain and Mitchell Santer makes the T symbol.

  15. Eng 59-4published at 9 overs

    Target 160

I know this match doesn't matter for England because they've already qualified for the semi-finals but they'd have wanted to put in a better performance than this.

Four wickets down inside nine overs. New Zealand have them in a spin.

Bethell is furious with himself. He keeps getting out this way, just whacking the ball out to a fielder.

He could have gone up and over to take the fielder out of the equation.

What a catch! It's absolute genius!

    It's always Phillips.

Bethell has walloped that ball flat out to deep mid-wicket and Phillips has so much ground to make up and has somehow got his fingers underneath the ball. The timing has impeccable.

Oh, what a catch that is from Glenn Phillips!

Jacob Bethell absolutely hammered Rachin Ravindra through mid-wicket and Phillips came charging in before launching himself forward for a diving catch. He did well to get his fingers under the ball, which was mere inches off the ground.

    What a special fielder.

Yes, Harry Brook has all the talent in the world. But why not just have a look at *one ball* from Phillips before trying to launch him from Colombo to Kandy? Hey ho!

    Che, West Bridgford

Brook gets too much hype from the commentators. Some silly early shots but described as playing beautifully... then doesn't think and gets out. Needs a reality check.

In England's quest to always spin the positives, they might say they don't mind time in the middle for this pair.

Bethell started the tournament with a fifty but hasn't done much since and Banton got a really good half-century against Scotland but not a lot either side of that.
