One of those strange evenings you can get in T20. Everything going England's way. Josh Tongue has got four wickets and two balls left to get a five-for.

  2. wicket

    Rana c Banton b Tongue 9 (Ind 70-9)

A great catch from Tom Banton gives Josh Tongue his fourth and England are just one wicket away.

Harshit Rana flashes a short ball behind point, but Banton leaps to his left and pouches it.

The tone was set by England with the new ball by Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue and it allowed Harry Brook to have things all his own way.

Credit where it’s due for Harry Brook and Brendon McCullum if we pull off a 2-0 win against the back-to-back T20 world champions. Maybe this leadership pair wouldn’t be as bad for the Test team as some make it out.

Some of India's players are not tested so much on the international scene and in different conditions. This is a learning curve for a lot of these guys.

But the ruthless nature of Indian cricket is if you waste your opportunity here you are right to the back of the queue.

  6. Ind 70-8published at 10 overs

India need 132 more from 60 deliveries.

More realistically, England need two wickets.

This is shockingly bad from India. You’re chasing 202, a total that’s perfectly capable with the team they have and they’ve shown no composure.

I am not sure if I have ever seen a team get bowled out so quickly as looks like will be the case here. India have no choice but to go down swinging.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.2 overs

    Arshdeep c Buttler b Rashid 4 (Ind 68-8)

    No mistake this time.

Arshdeep Singh skies another - this time from Adil Rashid - and Jos Buttler runs forward to take the catch.

On a good pitch, India are eight down inside 10 overs. EIGHT.

India are in an absolute mess and in danger of being bowled out for under a hundred here.

  12. Ind 66-7published at 9 overs

    Village.

Arshdeep Singh swipes at a short ball from Josh Tongue and it goes straight up.

Jos Buttler and Sam Curran leave it to each other and it lands safely.

  13. Ind 64-7published at 8.4 overs

Some India fans have seen enough and are heading for the exits.

Everything Harry Brook is touching to today is turning to gold. Josh Tongue tests out the middle of the pitch and Shivam Dube is on his way.

England's average speed of 144.7kph (89.9mph) from the pacers in the powerplay is the third-quickest in the powerplay in the history of T20Is (minimum of four overs bowled by pacers) and the quickest for England. The top two spots both belong to Australia from the 2010 T20 World Cup.

  16. wicket

    Dube c Buttler b Tongue 2 (Ind 63-7)

India have been absolutely awful here, but England have been superb.

Josh Tongue steams in, and finds a bottom edge as Shivam Dube tries to shovel one into the leg side.

  17. Ind 63-6published at 8 overs

A superb over from Will Jacks, who finishes by ripping one past Harshit Rana's inside edge.

The warning signs for India were there in Ireland. But we thought the conditions and the lack of atmosphere may have counted, but they have been well below par here.

  19. Ind 62-6published at 7.3 overs

Harry Brook has a slip in and why wouldn't you?

Everything else has gone England's way.

India have never previously lost five wickets in the powerplay of a men's T20 international.
