The big question is whether West Indies can build a partnership. They still have a few batters to come.

South Africa will be looking to put the screws on and kill the game quickly.

West Indies smacked first over of the match for 17 runs and finished the sixth over with a driven four from Rovman Powell...

But it's been South Africa's powerplay.

They took four wickets in 11 balls - two apiece for Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi - as West Indies collapsed from 29-0 to 43-4. And they really should have picked up a fifth, Ngidi dropping Sherfane Rutherford just a few moments ago.

West Indies are 52-4 after six overs.

It's dropped! Lungi Ngidi lost it somewhere because he was looking around in total surprise.

He timed the jumped nicely but just lost the ball.

Heads in hands all round for South Africa.

There will be a little bit of panic in the West Indies dressing room for sure. Coach Daren Sammy looks pretty relaxed on the boundary, however.

    Four runs off the over.

Another soft dismissal for the West Indies. You have to find ways of scoring but you also need to respect the wicket while getting your runs.

West Indies have not struggled in this tournament so far but today they are being bullied.

Another one! Lungi Ngidi wheels away with his arms outstretched!

Roston Chase, brought into the side in place of Akeal Hosein as a tactical change, wafted his bat and was bowled for two.

From 29-0, West Indies are 43-4.

Lungi Ngidi pulled his length back and bowled a straighter ball to Brandon King, enticing him to play that shot.

King was looking good so to get out that way is disappointing.

Brandon King goes now! He was looking comfortable out there but gets the lightest feather through.

    Wickets are tumbling in Ahmedabad!

It had been an expensive start to his spell from Lungi Ngidi, conceding back-to-back boundaries through cover.

However, he responds well, changing his length and finding the edge of Brandon King's bat.

King departs for 21 (11). South Africa have three wickets in the powerplay.

You cannot criticise a player trying to play the positive way. Shimron Hetmyer plays that shot consistently but that time it just didn't come off.

If I was batting now, I would take an over to soak up the pressure. T20 cricket is all about partnerships.

  17. WI 32-2published at 3 overs

Kagiso Rabada, who was wicketless in his past three matches, has 2-3 from his first over against West Indies.

Kagiso Rabada will be a relieved man - it is going his way today. Shimron Hetmyer was the in-form batter for West Indies.

Keshav Maharaj took a great catch too, a relief having dropped one earlier.

Two wickets in the over for Kagiso Rabada!

Safe hands from a flying Keshav Maharaj at mid-wicket.

Shimron Hetmyer can't capitalise on his earlier lifeline. Corbin Bosch breathes a sigh of relief.

Oh, that should have been two in two for Kagiso Rabada. Shimron Hetmyer plays uppishly at a full delivery but it bursts through the hands of a leaping Corbin Bosch at mid-on. Should he have been a pace or two further back?

Hetmyer collects two. A lifeline for West Indies.
