Aiden Markram is now part of three Super Giants sides after being snapped up by the Manchester Super Giants for £200,000, alongside Durban's Super Giants in the SA20 and Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.

Markram has impressed as an opener in the past year or so, averaging 38 while striking at 158 when batting at the top of the order - as it stands he could slot in alongside Jos Buttler at the top of the order for MSG.

Welsh Fire have spent £540,000 on Jordan Cox and Joe Root today.

That means a huge dent has been made in this purse already.

Birmingham Phoenix, Sunrisers Leeds and Trent Rockets are yet to get off the mark in the auction.

David Miller joins his South African team-mate Tristan Stubbs in the Southern Brave middle order at just £110,000.

Miller has struck at 178 at the death in his Hundred career to date and provides a left-handed option alongside Stubbs, this should allow the pair to take advantage of lopsided square boundaries that are often in play during the Hundred.

Sunrisers have really made a few PR own goals - renaming the team ‘Leeds’ and then letting Root and Rashid go elsewhere is not a good start.

Jonny Bairstow is an interesting addition to the London Spirit batting line-up, with a home ground that generally offers plenty of movement early on.

Bairstow averages just 26 against pace in the Hundred, striking at 131 - his numbers are much better against spin, averaging 51 while striking at 153.

  10. No teams bid for Pakistan's Haris Rauf in auctionpublished at 10:44 GMT 12 March

There is silence around the room as no team register any interest in Pakistan's Haris Rauf.

The 32-year-old fast bowler goes unsold in the first round of the auction.

  11. Daryl Mitchell goes unsoldpublished at 10:43 GMT 12 March

First marquee international player to go under the hammer is Daryl Mitchell.

And there is no interest for the New Zealand all-rounder in the room at this stage of the auction.

He could return to the auction in the next round.

Up next is Pakistan's Haris Rauf.

James Vince is not only the second leading run-scorer in the history of the Men's Hundred with 1,083 runs, he's also captained in all 44 outings, the most for any player with only Sam Billings (28 wins) captaining in more wins than Vince's 22.

While Sam Curran is already locked in as MI London captain, Vince's leadership will no doubt help their new leader grow into such a fast paced role.

And there's some serious pedigree in there.

    • Aiden Markram (South Africa)
    • David Miller (South Africa)
    • Haris Rauf (Pakistan)
    • Daryl Mitchell (New Zealand)

Coaches of Hundred teams with investment from the Indian Premier League say they have not been directed away from signing Pakistan players.

BBC Sport reported in February that the four Hundred franchises linked to the IPL would not sign Pakistan players, mirroring a ban in place in India.

All eight Hundred franchises and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) subsequently released a joint statement saying "players must not be excluded on the grounds of nationality".

As expected, the two Pakistan players involved in Wednesday's auction for the women's Hundred were not bought by any of the eight teams.

On Thursday, 16 Pakistani men are involved in the men's auction, including fast bowler Haris Rauf (pictured above) and spinner Usman Tariq.

Hundred side Sunrisers Leeds are part of the Sunrisers' global network, with teams in India and South Africa.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape are one of six teams in the SA20 - all have links to IPL ownership and none have ever fielded a Pakistan player.

Adi Birrell, head coach of Sunrisers Leeds women and Sunrisers Eastern Cape men, said he had never been told not to sign a Pakistan player.

"No, I haven't," he told BBC Sport. "I'm sure there will be some interest in some players tomorrow."

Asked if he believed there will be interest in Pakistan players from teams with IPL links, he said: "I think so, but I don't know. I presume so. I haven't heard that they won't bid for them."

Sunrisers Leeds are one of two Hundred teams owned outright by an IPL franchise, along with Southern Brave, who were bought by the part-owners of Delhi Capitals.

MI London sign their first player of the day and it's English batter James Vince for £190,000.

They have already pre-signed Sam Curran (£350,000), Will Jacks (£250,000), Nicholas Pooran (£175,000) and Rashid Khan (£175,000).

Jordan Cox becomes the most expensive purchase so far at £300,000 - the 25-year-old is the leading run-scorer in the Men's Hundred across the last three editions, amassing 749 runs at an average of 53 while striking at 157.

Batters have generally struggled at Cardiff in the Hundred and this could be a big transition for Cox across from the flat pitches at the Oval.
