Manchester Super Giants signing Josh Tongue has an impressive Hundred record to date, albeit in only 11 outings - he's taken 21 wickets at an average of just 13 while conceding at 1.47 runs per ball.

He looks to be a strong wicket-taker particularly during the middle overs.

There's plenty of interest for Josh Tongue in the room.

But it's Manchester Super Giants who get the England pacer for £200,000.

It will be very familiar surroundings for Tongue at Old Trafford, having worn the colours of Manchester Originals in The Hundred since 2023.

Sunrisers Leeds resign England Test opener Zak Crawley for £180,000 - the right-hander did impress for Northern Superchargers last season, averaging 40 across his nine innings while striking at 160 and has shown to be a strong player of pace in the Hundred, striking at 151.

However, he's been vulnerable to spin in the shortest format, averaging just 18 while striking at 108.

  6. Young player to watch - Sonny Bakerpublished at 11:16 GMT 12 March

    Age: 22

    Role: Right-arm fast

Sonny Baker made his Hundred debut in 2022 at just 19 years old, featuring in three matches for Southern Brave. However, a mixture of recurring stress fractures and a drop in form limited his appearances until his return for Manchester Originals in last year's competition.

Only Jofra Archer and Riley Meredith registered more deliveries over 87mph than Baker during the 2025 men's Hundred, which helped lead to an one-day international debut against South Africa in Leeds in September.

It's not just raw pace Baker has to offer - with the new ball he's capable of swinging the ball both ways, while at the death he mixes up his length alongside the occasional slower ball to keep batters guessing.

Ryan Rickelton should enjoy the batter friendly conditions up at Leeds after being picked up by the Sunrisers.

The left-handed opener is a strong player of pace bowling in particular, striking at 163 facing pace in the past two years while averaging 35.

Rickelton also fills the vacant keeper slot for Harry Brook's side.

The Kiwi opener struck at 198 inside the powerplay during the competition and registered the fastest ever T20 World Cup century, reaching three figures in just 33 balls against South Africa.

He should slot into a star-studded top order at Trent Bridge alongside Ben Duckett and Tom Banton.

Welsh Fire head coach Mike Hussey on 'balancing' the squad during the auction: "It is definitely a balance. The plans are changing all the time, so we are trying to be nimble. We are quite lucky with our squad. We have got balance, and we can move pieces around. We definitely have a few players in mind who we are keen to get hold of.

"I guess balancing how much money you have spent and what you have got left."

On players who have not been signed during the auction: "There is still a chance that they can get picked up in this second round. Sometimes, things are happening quickly. Even with us, plans have not changed, but they have been moving all the time.

"We still need a little bit, but our squad is really balanced. We still need another middle order batter, two overseas slots to fill and a bit of bowling to back things up as well.

"We will be pretty active as the rest of the day goes on."

Pakistan's Haris Rauf was one of the marquee international players to go unsold a little earlier.

Last month, BBC Sport was told that Pakistan cricketers were not being considered by Indian-owned Hundred sides for this auction.

That was shut down by all eight franchises and the ECB in a joint statement saying "players must not be excluded on the grounds of nationality".

And this week coaches from those teams said they had not been directed away from signing Pakistan players.

BBC Newsbeat's been to Lisvane Cricket Club in Cardiff, the home of Welsh Fire, to ask a few fans what they make of it.

"Politics shouldn't be in cricket at all," says 26-year-old Idrees Maskeen.

His team-mate Abbas Sohail, 23, says it's something they've talked about with friends who support India too.

"We have a lot of Indian friends as well. We are all on the same topic in regards to leaving the politics side of things outside of cricket and really enjoying the sport together," he says.

His twin brother Abdullah, 23, agrees and thinks "the spirit of cricket is bringing all players together, no matter what background they're from".

Abbas also thinks the Hundred would be missing out if some of the star Pakistan players weren't selected.

"There's so many Pakistani fans that love watching their players play, they wont be able to get the amount of viewers," he says.

  20. 'We got Cox and Root at good prices'published at 10:56 GMT 12 March

Welsh Fire captain Phil Salt, talking about the signings of Jordan Cox and Joe Root: "We're really pleased. They were players we had bookmarked and we got them at good prices so we're really pleased.

"We're pretty relaxed. It is my first auction so it has been a really valuable experience to be in the room during conversations. We've got contingencies and we've got a good plan moving forward.

"I am really looking forward to it. right now it feels a way away but I'm starting to get excited. Hopefully we put together a strong squad."
