  1. Aus 105-1published at 9 overs

New batter Cameron Green has a wild swing at Dushan Hemantha but misses.

And there's a huge shout for stumping after wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis dislodges the bails but the Australia batter had his backfoot in the crease all along.

Brilliant partnership between the two openers. Travis Head was going to try to hit every ball for a boundary. What I am interested in now is Cameron Green. He has not looked great.

    Head c Kamindu Mendis b Hemantha 56 (Aus 104-1)

That's the end of Travis Head.

Something for the Sri Lanka fans to cheer about as the Australia opener holes out to Kamindu Mendis at long-off.

Head departs after a flashy half-century but only after setting the tone for this Australia innings.

100 up for Australia with another six - this time from Travis Head.

Sri Lanka have not tried much. They are just bowling at Australia...

  6. Aus 97-0published at 8 overs

What a response this is turning into from Australia, after their shock defeat to Zimbabwe.

Another ball in the slot is dispatched for six by Mitch Marsh for his second maximum of the innings.

Travis Head has looked in fine nick today and he's brought up his 50 in 27 balls.

It's a half-century that Head and Australia needed after their struggles in this tournament.

  8. Aus 84-0published at 7 overs

More runs for Australia and more misery for Sri Lanka.

Dashun Hemantha goes for 14 runs in his first attempt and Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka is not quite sure who to turn to next.

Travis Head is striking them really nicely. Yes, there is a fielder out there, but it goes six rows back into the stand.

  10. 6 runs

    Aus 80-0published at 6.4 overs

Australia are not holding back here.

And the Sri Lanka bowlers have not helped themselves either.

Travis Head gets down on one knee to meet the ball from Dushan Hemantha and thumps it over long-on for another maximum.

It looks like Mitch Marsh has well and truly arrived at the T20 World Cup now!

Four, four, four, four and four for the Australia captain as he takes Maheesh Theekshana to the cleaners in the final over of the powerplay!

The last of those is the best of the lot as Marsh drives between extra cover and mid-off - simply glorious!

  12. Aus 50-0published at 5 overs

Mitch Marsh has not looked very convincing in this innings so far but it's understandable given this is his first taste of this T20 World Cup.

He again gets an inside edge - this time onto his pads off Dasun Shanaka.

Australia still manage 12 runs from the over, with Travis Head proving the more adventurous off the duo so far.

Travis Head gets on to the length so quickly. He pulls it into the leg side, and he is so quick at picking up that ball. A remarkable shot.

Well, this Australian team have got a point to prove, but this could be a mauling. They are flying out there in the middle.

    Ruthless hitting from Travis Head!

Dasun Shanaka continues to err with his line and the Australia battler picks one up on the leg stump and plants it well into the stands over mid-wicket.

Australia trying to assert some dominance early. I fancy Sri Lanka to wrestle back some momentum with spin. Then it'll come down to how Sri Lanka play the Aussie slow bowlers in their chase. I fancy Sri Lanka to chase 180-185, anything up to 200 will be too much.

Mitch Marsh had not faced a ball in a while and it was a big old heave with a thick inside edge.

  17. Aus 38-0published at 4 overs

Only six runs off Maheesh Theekshana's second over despite Travis Head hitting his fifth four of the innings to move to 23 from 16 balls.

It could have been even better for the Sri Lanka bowler as Mitch Marsh almost drags the final delivery onto his stumps but the Australia captain survives.

It is such a good shot and it is not even that wide, but he plays the wide ball so well Travis Head. He manages to find a gap through the off side.

  19. Aus 32-0published at 3 overs

No the greatest of starts from Dasun Shanaka.

He offers enough width for Travis Head, who slaps him away for four through point, before the Sri Lanka captain closes the over with a dot ball.

  20. Aus 28-0published at 2.4 overs

Matheesha Pathirana is unable to continue here.

He is limping off the ground, helped by Sri Lanka's medical staff. Hopefully, we'll see him back on the pitch soon.

Captain Dasun Shanaka will step up to finish off this over.
