  1. Round twopublished at 20:58 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

A beautiful double left hook to the head and body from Hennessy early in the round and she follows it up with more fine work.

Hennessy has a nasty-looking cut under her right eye - that came from a clash of heads.

That's a round for the Brit.

  2. Round twopublished at 20:57 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

De Persio has been warned by the referee for being overly aggressive when he calls "break".

    It's getting tasty.

    Stacey Copeland
    Retired boxer on BBC Two

It was quite a tight round and a bit scrappy. I don't think anyone put their stamp on that, it was just feeling each other out.

  4. Round twopublished at 20:55 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

Both women get a telling off from the referee at the start of the round for shoving their gloves in the face of their opponents.

"Let's have a clean fight," he says.

  5. Round onepublished at 20:54 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

Hennessy isn't able to find her timing or range just yet, with De Persio able to keep the distance with her longer range.

It's a scrappy round in fairness and one that is very hard to score either way.

  6. We're under waypublished at 20:52 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

    Ding, ding, ding!

Italy's De Persio is the taller of the two and is looking to unload on Hennessy early on here.

    Hennessy v De Persio

    Steve Bunce
    Boxing expert on BBC Sport

Hennessy was honest enough to admit that there was pressure. She has got the dance, the act, she is a great talker, but you still have to do that headlining, deal with the pressure and get in the ring - and then it was a really hard fight.

  10. Hennessy's goal of becoming youngest undisputed championpublished at 20:45 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

With her win over Ellie Bouttell at the end of January, Francesca Hennessy became the WBC mandatory challenger for Cherneka Johnson's belt.

That means that Hennessy, 21, is well within reach of her goal of becoming the youngest ever undisputed boxing champion of the four-belt era, men's or women's.

Gabriela Fundora holds the record after she became the undisputed flyweight champion in 2024 at 22 years and 218 days old. Hennessy doesn't turn 22 until October.

Here comes the challenger from Rome... Aurora de Persio.

She's wasted no time in making her way down the aisle and into the ring.

  12. How far off is Hennessy from world-title show?published at 20:42 BST 30 May

Francesca Hennessy has questions to answer tonight following her last outing in January, when many ringside observers felt Ellie Bouttell had done enough to take the decision.

Hennessy has clear world-title ambitions and is aiming to challenge for major honours later this year.

However, undisputed bantamweight champion Cherneka Johnson - who faces Dina Thorslund in August - currently sets the standard at the top of the division.

At this stage, Hennessy has not yet operated at that elite level and may still need one or two more developmental fights before being ready for a world-title challenge.

  13. 'One slip up and you go to the bottom'published at 20:40 BST 30 May

    Natasha Jonas
Former two-weight world champion on BBC Sport

One slip-up in boxing, unfortunately, means that you kind of go to the bottom of the pile. If you're on a trajectory to be a world champion, you've got to keep winning and do it in a style that the fans like to see. You like to see them in tough fights, not 90-10s or 80-20s. These are the kind of fights that will do that.

  14. Watch out for Hennessy's ringwalkpublished at 20:39 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

One thing to be on the lookout for is Francesca Hennessy's ringwalk.

The 21-year-old loves to sing and dance on her way down to the ring.

I wonder what she'll have in store for us tonight?

Joel Kodua and Will Harrison were in an entertaining scrap for the English welterweight title at the same time Arsenal and PSG went to penalties.

There were some loud cheers from a few hundred or so fans - huddled around phones - in the arena when Gabriel missed his penalty for the North London side to hand PSG the title.

Kodua and Harrison must have wondered what on earth was gong on.

    Hennessy v De Persio

First up tonight for us on BBC Two is Britain's Francesca Hennessy.

The 21-year-old is looking to go 9-0 tonight but standing in her way is Italian Aurora de Persio - who is fighting outside of her home country for the first time.

For Hennessy, though, this is all about building towards a world title shot.

There's a real sporting buzz in Wembley today. As I made my walk from Wembley Park station to the OVO arena, I passed a heap of merry northerners still celebrating Wigan Warriors' win over Hull KR in the Rugby League Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium earlier.

And the bars and pubs were packed with Arsenal fans watching the Champions League final.

It's still quiet in here with most sections empty but perhaps some fans were waiting for the football to finish before they make their way in.
