  1. Claggett 'not as fresh' but 'still a danger'published at 21:27 BST 30 May

    Azim v Claggett

    Steve Bunce
    Boxing expert on BBC Sport

I don't have a single problem with Claggett [as an opponent]. Is he as fresh as he was three years ago? No, but no one is as fresh as three years ago once he's got their sight on the door.

Is Claggett still a danger? Yes. Could they have picked 30 or 40 fighters who would be easier? Yes they could have. I think this will be a good one.

I spoke to Shane McGuigan about three weeks ago and he said that this guy is ideal because they knew he would give them rounds. Even if it was five or six rounds, it would be five or six really good rounds and sometimes that is what you need. You don't want a 10 or 12 round shutout where he doesn't have to break a sweat. We want to see Azim look good and wouldn't it be good if he can get the stoppage?

  2. Who is Azim's opponent Claggett?published at 21:27 BST 30 May

    Azim v Claggett

Steve Claggett is a 36-year-old Canadian who is looking to be the first man to get the better of Adam Azim in a boxing ring.

Two bouts ago, he fought for Teofimo Lopez's WBO and Ring light-welterweight world titles, but was beaten by unanimous decision.

In his 49 fights, Claggett has never fought in Europe so this will be his first time.

  3. Azim and Claggett's careers comparedpublished at 21:26 BST 30 May

    Azim v Claggett

In terms of experience, Adam Azim doesn't come close to Steve Claggett.

At 36, Claggett is 13 years older than Azim and has had 36 more fights than the Briton.

Will Azim outclass the Canadian, though?

  4. Azim's path to a world titlepublished at 21:25 BST 30 May

    Azim v Claggett

So, how does Adam Azim win a world title?

American Richardson Hitchins has recently vacated his IBF belt following a move up in weight and his signing with Zuffa Boxing.

Following this, the IBF has ordered number one challenger Mexico's Lindolfo Delgado to face Canada-based Russian Arthur Biyarslano for the vacant title.

Promoter Ben Shalom said a "statement win" could land Azim a shot against the winner.

"We believe he can become a world champion this year and it doesn't happen without a win on Saturday night," Boxxer's Shalom said.

"This is the biggest fight. This is the one before we believe he will fight for a world title.

"This is his toughest test against a guy in great form, coming off two knockout wins who has a lot more experience than Adam, and he's going to really stick it on him."

  5. 'Let's go mandatory for undisputed'published at 21:25 BST 30 May

Hennessy beats De Persio by stoppage

Francesca Hennessy, speaking after her victory: "First of all, all glory to god. I am truly blessed. I have a great team around me and I have been working so hard in the gym.

"I also want to say respect to Aurora, we are both 21 years old, fighting on a stage like this. Respect to her. I'll be honest, it did feel a bit [personal between us]. If you bite at me, I'll go in there and do exactly that. It was all in there. Respect to her.

"I was so much calmer in there. It all comes with age and experience. I knew to just relax. I put it all together and I am truly blessed. Let's go mandatory for undisputed."

After a hard-fought and competitive first round, Francesca Hennessy made the adjustments, found her range, found her distance and showed the full, wide-ranging repertoire of her offensive arsenal.

Fantastic use of the feet and wonderful punch selection. She was relentless.

Hennessy beats De Persio by stoppage

De Persio wasn't exactly rocking but she was on the ropes, not throwing any punches and didn't need to keep taking punishment.

Hennessy now moves to 9-0 and keeps her WBC Silver bantamweight belt.

  11. Hennessy wins by stoppage!published at 21:09 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

A fantastic Hennessy performance comes to an end with just her second stoppage in nine fights!

De Persio couldn't keep up with the Brit and after a flurry of body punches, the referee decided enough was enough.

We've seen Hennessy pick shots by slipping and countering, but just then we saw a bit of aggressive and really stepping on De Persio.

I'll be really surprised if this goes much further.

    Hennessy v De Persio

Hennessy is unloading on De Persio, going to the head and body. A stoppage might not be far away here.

De Persio looks out of gas. She's not got the answers in this one.

    Let's see if she listens.

  16. Round fourpublished at 21:03 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

Hennessy is dropping to the body with the left hook and De Persio is taking deep breaths. Does she have the conditioning to keep up with Hennessy?

She comes again and cracks in a beauty of a left hook to the face this time.

De Persio is becoming increasingly more ragged.

  17. Round threepublished at 21:00 BST 30 May

    Hennessy v De Persio

Hennessy has De Persio figured out now, I think. The Italian is game but is lacking the skill needed to trouble Hennessy.

The left hook of Hennessy is landing at will here and she's taking control of this fight.

This has been really good work from Hennessy. I think she has started to figure out the distance and range, picking those shots. She will pick De Persio off more and more as the rounds come.

Great to be watching boxing on the BBC. I’m now 55, and remember some great nights in the 1970s and 1980s sat with my family as a kid watching Bruno, McGuigan, etc.

I think Hennessy has made good adjustments between the rounds. She has started to get the range, making it difficult for De Persio to launch attacks.
