The pupils must prepare a fact-file to be distributed to the rest of the school on the whole-school ethical fashion day. Divide the class into different groups to produce the different sections of the fact-file. One group should look at the growth of cotton, how it happens and where it takes place, another group should look at the impact of cotton farming on the environment, while another looks at the Aral Sea disaster as a case study. The remaining groups should look at the various ways that we can reduce the harmful effects of cotton farming, from reducing and recycling what we buy to buying organic cotton and influencing companies to use more eco-friendly methods.
