History - The Linen Industry in NI

Introduction to the history Unit

This short unit provides an ideal opportunity for a local study.  It may be in extension to a unit of work on the industrial revolution.  It looks at the effects of the linen industry on Northern Ireland and Belfast in particular.  It also looks at the working conditions in the textile mills and compares them to the conditions faced by people working in the fashion industry in developing countries today.
