It's the greatest UFC fighter of all time against the greatest British fighter to ever step into the octagon. Anderson Silva is a special person - if you let him catch you with that one shot, it's all over. When you talk about Michael Bisping, you talk about work-rate, you talk about tenacity.

    Quote Message

Great work from Amirkhani throughout. A lot of the best work was done in the first round - Wilkinson started well in the last round but Amirkhani came back to steal it. It was a great performance from Mr Finland and a disappointing one from Mike Wilkinson.

  13. Silva sleepspublished at 20:57 GMT 27 February 2016

Anderson Silva couldn't look more relaxed in his dressing room. He's laid on the floor with his eyes shut. An hour or so until he fights.

    Hope he set an alarm....

  15. Wilkinson v Amirkhanipublished at 20:55 GMT 27 February 2016

    Round 3

Great heart by Wilkinson who knows he has to finish the fight to win.

A flurry of tired, right hands connect on the ground and it briefly appears he may turn this around.

But with one minute to go Amirkhani recovers the dominant position and that should be all. We await the judges...

  17. Wilkinson v Amirkhanipublished at 20:52 GMT 27 February 2016

    Round 2

Amirkhani dominant again but he can't find the finish.

With a minute to go, he gets in the mount position on the ground but Wilkinson does well to keep Amirkhani subdued as the seconds tick away.

Wilkinson is going to need to stop the fight in the final round now to win.

"Guillotine attempt from Mark Wilkinson but very nice defence from Makwan Amirkhani. At no stage did he lose his cool. Now Mike Wilkinson is starting to get tired."

  19. Wilkinson v Amirkhanipublished at 20:46 GMT 27 February 2016

    Round 1

Amirkhani, known as Mr Finland, dominates the first round on the ground, repeatedly landing blows.

He said in the build up this would be an "easy win" and, while there is no sign of that, he is in control. Wilkinson's face is bloodied and eyes are bruised.

For those new to UFC, ground exchanges can be the hardest to follow. But for those who love the finer aspects it is a fascinating game of chess.

It's a big moment for the English featherweight, who has only fought once since 2013 due to a succession of injuries.
