Well, that 4-0 half time rout to Robbie Savage's team proved to be a right cracker! Look at this final scoreline. The Reds are slowly crawling back the overall score, but they would have liked to have won by a bigger margin.

Commentator Ian Cheeseman described it as "the best game" he's seen - it's his third match - give it time Ian...

I’ve come down here to give Shearer some tips on how to score goals. I think he’s learnt a lot and if the lad carries on trying he’ll do well.

  3. "It's Shearer to Cuthbert"published at 19:09 GMT 4 March 2016

Never a line that was uttered on Match Of The Day, but it's one that will be spoken tonight! In around 20 minutes time, ex-England international Alan Shearer hands the reigns over to Union J boyband member, Josh Cuthbert for another 12 hour stint.

  4. The comeback is onpublished at 18:59 GMT 4 March 2016

Surely not? Trailing now by only 48 goals, Savage's men are currently winning 4-0. Sit tight ladies and gentlemen. 23 hours to go, we still could have it going down to the final game - what drama!

  5. Food for thought...published at 18:56 GMT 4 March 2016

Well, there's no doubt that Alan Shearer can afford to relax a little. A few moments ago he was on the sidelines wolfing down a quick bite to eat.

We had a tweet earlier about how one player's pre-match meal was cream cheese and pork chops. We're not sure if that's nutritionally the best choice - but find out here, external how to eat like a pro!

James, you're too kind! Although, are your loyalties on the glory-hunting side? It's Savage needing all the support he can get right now.

  14. For those wonderingpublished at 18:04 GMT 4 March 2016

It's so the teams can have an instant replay of the last 20 seconds. Yesterday, a peach of a curling effort smashed the button to the left of the camera, so we now only have one!

  15. It's magic, you snowpublished at 17:49 GMT 4 March 2016

OK, excuse the pun, but it's the only way through 57 hours of continuous football. Around 12 hours ago the snow began to fall and made the pitch somewhat challenging, but now the pitch is clear and we're not expecting anymore snow. So, if you were fair-weathering it, praying you wouldn't have to come down and cheer the players on due to the conditions, you've no excuse now!

They've provided the match officials throughout the competition so far (except for the unqualified Adnan Januzaj), but very shortly the refs of the Manchester County FA will be stepping onto the pitch themselves. What do the two captains think...

And who's going to ref the game?
