Here we go then Eileen Gu.

It wasn't perfect because she snagged the top again but it will be enough for a place in the final.

    She's given a score of 86.50.

You wouldn't immediately associate Metallica with figure skating - but Austria's Olga Mikutina has just performed her free skate to Nothing Else Matters.

Admittedly, it was a softer version than the original. Still, rock on.

It is a tune, to be fair.

Here's a quick reminder of Thursday's action so far:

    • Italy's defeat by Switzerland in the men's curling secured Great Britain a semi-final place and they are currently in action against the unbeaten Swiss.
    • GB women beat Italy 7-4 in the curling but suffer agonising elimination as USA dramatically beat Switzerland 7-6 in extra end.
    • Norway's Jens Luras Oftebro completes a hat-trick of golds with victory in the Nordic combined team sprint.
    • World champion Marianne Fatton of Switzerland beats France's Emily Harrop for the women's ski mountaineering title, while Spain's Oriol Cardona Coll wins men's gold.
    • China's Ning Zhongyan (pictured) wins speed skating gold in the men's 1500m, with American Jordan Stolz - who was chasing a third gold of these Olympics - taking silver.
    • Switzerland won their women's bronze medal match against Sweden in the final minute of overtime. Canada lead the USA 1-0 in the second period of the gold medal match.

GB had Switzerland in a bit of bother with a couple of stones left. The Swiss keep their cool and manage to limit the British rink to two.

We're all square after three of the 10 ends.

Freestyle Skiing - women's freeski halfpipe

The first run of the women's freeski halfpipe qualification has finished and we're just moments away from the second.

GB's Zoe Atkin had the highest score in the first run so the pressure is off! The pressure is, however, on China's reigning Olympic Eileen Gu who fell on her first run.

She needs to nail this second to qualify for the final.

At this point, Switzerland will accept a score of two for GB.

And Bruce Mouat will have either a draw to the button or a tap of a Swiss yellow stone to earn that two...

GB have to play perfectly to beat this all-conquering Swiss team. Switzerland have been next level. Every mistake made, the Swiss will punish. GB can't just rely on their skip, they all need to bring their A game.

    Mark, London

Switzerland won nine out of nine in the round robin phase, remember.

But then GB duo Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds were dominant in the first phase of the mixed doubles and ended up missing out on a medal, so it can easily switch around quickly for the teams in form.

Italy's Lara Naki Gutmann might have performed to the Jaws theme tune, but that was anything but scary!

It was a routine packed full of difficult sequences, jumps and turns.

The home crowd loved it and the judges liked it too, scoring her 134.19. That's head and shoulders above what we've had so far.

    Logan Gray
BBC Sport commentator and former elite curler on BBC Two

In the first end, we said GB needed to take the game to Switzerland. The Swiss play a very balanced approach, and have a balanced mentality.

GB's Bruce Mouat and Grant Hardie are two of the best minds in the sport, so they have to start using that to their benefit.

Canada strike first while a player down on the power play!

What a finish it is as well, Kristin O'Neill showing some wonderful skill before beating Aerin Frankel.

It's the first goal that the Americans have conceded in almost six hours of action and it's also the first time they've been behind in this competition.

Freestyle Skiing - women's freeski halfpipe

    Ed Leigh

Zoe Atkin may lack one or two of Eileen Gu's biggest tricks, but Atkin goes bigger in the halfpipe.

That is the biggest trick going further out of the pipe. That is what the judges love.

Critically, Gu doesn't like snowy conditions.

Perhaps that contributed to the gold medal favourite's tumble on her first run?

A huge reception for Amber Glenn as she emerges onto the ice to warm up as part of the second group.

We did not expect to see the American champion this early in the free skate, but she suffered a short program disaster as she missed an element, resulting in her score plummeting and her qualifying 13th.

Glenn was inconsolable after that, and has just suffered quite a heavy fall in the warm-up to gasps from the crowd.

But the 26-year-old looks ok, and if she brings her best tonight it could shake up the medal race.

It will be a big ask, though.

That is some extraordinary sweeping by Bobby Lammie and, particularly, Hammy McMillan.

It’s a small world, British curling.

Grant Hardie and Hammy McMillan in the Team GB men’s rink are cousins. Hammy’s dad went to the 1992 and 2002 Games.

Team-mate Bobby Lammie is from the Stranraer area in south west Scotland, too. He went to school with Vicky Wright, who won women’s gold in 2022 and is part of the BBC’s commentary team in Cortina.

She’s married to Greg Drummond, the national team coach, and was introduced to the elite end of the sport by 2022 team-mate Jen Dodds.

Dodds is part of the women’s team here and came so close to a medal with Bruce Mouat in the mixed. Those two have known each other since they were primary school age, too...

We've had our first group of six skaters, with another three sets of six to come.

Leading the way early doors is China's Zhang Ruiyang with a score of 178.03 - but we expect the eventual winner to score well over 200.

The main medal contenders are still to come; next is Italy's sole representative in this free skate, Lara Naki Gutmann.

She will be skating to an unusual choice of music - the soundtrack from Jaws.
