A much better routine by Amber Glenn, and she punches the air in delight.

She put her hand down on her triple loop, so she probably will still fall short of the medals.

But there was a lot of power and meaning in that routine, after the disappointment of a couple of days ago. She will be pleased to have shown her true ability on the Olympic stage.

GB don't quite get their final stone in end five right, clipping the guard on the way through, and have to settle for one to trail by a shot at the break.

They need to lift it once they've finished chomping on their half-time refreshments.

That was a beautiful routine from Amber Glenn.

She nailed her triple Salchow, but most importantly she did that triple loop she couldn't manage in the short program.

She punches the air knowing that was a very, very good routine.

Big cheers as the crowd realises she's OK enough to do that.

She has to quickly pop up on the barrier to get her coach to sort something in her hair coming loose.

There are plenty of USA flags in the crowd, and a few rainbow ones too.

The crowd is holding their breath down at the bottom. It was a beautiful run for Cassie Sharpe. Unfortunately, she caught an edge on the landing of a huge 10-80.

Oh no, Cassie Sharpe has taken a fall right near the end of her run.

The Canadian is receiving medical attention. Let's hope she is OK.

There's an lad in the stands waving a cardboard cutout of Grant Hardie's face the size of his entire upper torso. I think I've watched so much curling this month that I'm going delirious.

Kristin O'Neill's goal has Canada in front with 20 minutes left to play - will it be enough for gold?

This is far from over, though... the USA have scored at least five times in each of their previous six matches at these Winter Olympics and thrashed Canada 5-0 in the group stage.

But this one has been much closer. The shot count is 21-20 in favour of the Canadians.

I am no longer supporting Switzerland!

    Chris, Stevenage

If you weren't with us earlier, GB's women needed some help from Switzerland if they were going to qualify for the semi-finals.

The Swiss came from almost nowhere to force an extra end in their match against the USA, but the American quartet prevailed to go through and finish British hopes of a medal in the women's event.

What an elegant performance from Finland's Iida Karhunen. It's hard to believe she's just 17-years-old given the way she expresses herself in her routines.

A very dainty figure skater who is certainly going to be one to watch in the future.

She scores 127.73 to give her a combined score of 192.79. That puts her in second place behind Italy's Lara Naki Gutmann.

Women's ice hockey final - USA 0-1 Canada

It's going to be a long final 25 minutes for Canada if the USA continue to dominate as they have since conceding the opening goal earlier in this second period.

Britta Curl just stuck one wide with the goal almost open and, as yet, the USA have been unable to find a reply.

With these sweepers, they are so effective. They make it curl, but then it jumps and you can't get it back. That is exactly what happened there for the Swiss.
