We've had our first 11 skaters in the short program, with another 18 still to come.

'Neutral' athlete Adeliia Petrosian still leads the field, with her score of 72.89 now guaranteeing her a place in Thursday's free skate.

Most of the medal contenders are still to skate, including reigning world champion Alysa Liu of the United States.

Considering the conditions, there’s still a large - and very vocal - crowd here to cheer on the big air finalists at the Livigno Snow Park.

It’s similar conditions to last night’s women’s final, although the size of the snowflakes definitely seem bigger tonight!

We're now at the final five competitors in run two - they all posted first-run scores above 90.

Only Troy Podmilsak has successfully landed two tricks so far but he will have big room for improvement too in his final run.

I have not seen this many mechanical issues in a freeski final in some time. Snapped skis, snapped binding.

Gutting for Timothe Sivignon, with two falls.

There was every chance Dylan Deschamps was going to land on a cloud there and just float away. The height he got!

Deschamps couldn't land his first trick cleanly but a score of 91.00 for the second keeps him in contention.

Troy Podmilsak backs up his first-run score of 90.50 with a 73.75 on his second. It would have been much higher but for a slight error on the landing.

Some more encouraging news for Team GB is that Norway are struggling early on against Sweden. The Swedes, the 2022 gold medallists, are already out but they might just do Bruce Mouat and the British boys a turn here.

A well-judged draw guarantees one for Team GB, but has Bruce Mouat got his two?

Grant Hardie - usually the man who calls these things - thinks so, but we're going to get the big compass out to determine if a yellow stone or red stone is the second closest.

The umpire says yellow, that's two for the British rink, and we're level after four ends.

  11. 'Ruud so consistent'published at 19:09 GMT 17 February

Birk Ruud is really consistent. That jump from him was so smooth.

This really opens the gates now but the judges kept his score under Tormod Frostad's run interestingly.

That is an absolute whopper [of a trick by Mac Forehand]. I am surprised he did not cut his fingers off there!

    Men's freeski big air final

Norway's Birk Ruud starts with a score of 95, landing the first 2160 of the final, but he's narrowly behind his compatriot Tormod Frostad.

Mac Forehand, the highest-scoring qualifier, matches Ruud's score.

    And that's run one done!

Seven skaters have delivered their short program and it's neutral athlete Adeliia Petrosian who leads the way with a score of 72.89.

Team GB's Kristen Spours is in seventh place after receiving a score of 45.54.

Only the top 24 (out of 29) go through to Thursday's free skate.

So many skiers have finished their rotation and then they just drop out of the sky. Visibility may be an issue at the moment.

There is a lot of snow coming down that is in their eyes.

    Men's freeski big air final

Earlier, we were asking you which Winter Olympic sport you'd want to try.

Considering I cricked my neck in the shower this morning, this would be low on my list. Huge admiration for the technical brilliance and the bravery on show.

The snow is falling much heavier now, making visibility for landings very difficult, while there are people out with blowers to clear the fresh show off the approach to the jump before Luca Harrington's first run.

    Bobsleigh - two-man (run three)

Great Britain have slipped down a place from eighth to ninth ahead of run four, posting an overall time of 2:47.26 (+2.47).

Leon Greenwood is stepping in as Brad Hall's brakeman following an injury to Taylor Lawrence.

The priority for Team GB now is Saturday's first two runs in the four-man bobsleigh, which features Hall, Lawrence, Greenwood, and Greg Cackett.

Well, a second consecutive Olympic 1-2-3 for Germany in the two-man bobsleigh is looking good!

Johannes Lochner (two-time silver medallist in 2022) and Georg Fleischhauer have 0.92 second lead over the rest of the field.

Defending champion Francesco Friedrich and his brakeman Alexander Schuller are second, with Adam Ammour and Alexander Schaller boasting a healthy advantage (0.45) over fourth place.

    1. Johannes Lochner/Georg Fleischhauer (Germany) - 2:44.79
    2. Francesco Friedrich/Alexander Schuller (Germany) - 2:45.71 (+0.92)
    3. Adam Ammour/Alexander Schaller (Germany) - 2:46.17 (+1.38)
    4. Frankie del Duca/Joshua Williamson (USA) - 2:46.62 (+1.83)
    5. Mihai Cristian Tentea/George Iordache (Romania) - 2:46.84 (+2.05)

The fourth and final run will begin at 20:05 GMT, with teams sliding in reverse order of the standings. The field is also cut from 26 to 20 sleds.

That is a huge jump from USA's Konnor Ralph! We can certainly count out any doubts of slow speed in this final.

The door is wide open for big spin tonight.
