Oh no! Yuto Totsuka falls on the final trick. He's straight up though, and smiling.

So, Yuto Totsuka's run two score of 95.00 remains the score to beat.

Only Australian Scotty James is left to run.

Yuto Totsuka is next for his final run. He's in gold medal position, but with Scotty James to come, it's not a certainty.

This run needs to be mahoosive.

What have we just seen here. The commitment to do that, we've never seen that in a competition.

Ryusei Yamada lands too low though and puts his hands on the floor, they're germaphobes in the judges box.

Ah! American Alessanxro Barbieri won't be medalling. He can't land a trick off his goofy side and slides into the snow.

Just the top three boarders to go.

Ruka Hirano seems very impressed at the end of his run. An improvement of 2.25 points from his last go will see him take third.

Instead he collects 91 points. He stays fourth. He's still smiling and even gives some fans a wave.

Valentino Guseli, washes his hands of that, look at him! The most unlikely of halfpipe snowboarders.

Valentino Guseli just seems to float in the air.

The height he gets is extraordinary, and he seems to be up there for an age.

There are a lot of Aussies in this crowd and they are going wild. Inflatable kangaroos everywhere.

He's currently seventh in the provisional standings and will finish well down the leaderboard, but his story at this Games will have meant a lot to those who have unexpectedly lost loved ones.

It’s rammed at the men’s halfpipe and the crowd is very vocal with their “ooohs and aaahs”, cheers and applause as the snowboarders head down the pipe.

There is a sizeable contingent from Australia supporting one man here and that’s Scotty James.

Can he finally get his hands on Olympic gold?

    Emma Smith

A really tough routine for Maxim Naumov, as he falls twice and looks quite tense throughout.

But he has huge support here, particularly from the American fans. That's perhaps the biggest noise of the night so far.
