    Figure Skating: Men's free skate

It is impossible to imagine what American skater Maxim Naumov has been through in the last 12 months.

Just over a year ago, his parents - former world champion pairs skaters Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova - were among 67 people killed in a plane crash in Washington DC. Of those on board the flight, 28 were athletes, coaches or parents connected to US figure skating.

Naumov said that his dream to make Team USA was one of the last things he spoke about with his parents before they were killed.

As the scores came in for the rhythm skate, Naumov held up a picture of his late parents with him as a young child.

And he has made it through to tonight's final round. Expect not a dry eye in the house.

    Figure Skating: Men's free skate

Italian Matteo Rizzo has just finished his free skate and moves up to provisional third.

That brings a huge cheer from the Milan crowd.

Rizzo's excellent skate in the team event effectively sealed bronze for Italy, helping them begin a really strong run of medals at the Milano Ice Skating Arena.

He had a disappointing rhythm skate which has left him out of medal contention here, but he's enjoyed a strong finish performing to music from the Christopher Nolan film Interstellar - delighting his adoring fans.

It's hard to see the amplitude with the camera angles here. It's the only thing we've been missing on some of these judging decisions. There's some tricks out there that no one can do.

Scotty James’ family went wild when he finished that incredible second run.

James himself didn’t look too happy with that score though, did he? He knows he still has work to do if he’s to get that Olympic gold.

That's a wrap on run three in the men's skeleton. It's Matt Weston's world and we're living in it!

He's leading the way with a time of 2:47.72 and has gone sub-56 seconds in two of his three runs.

Germany's Axel Jungk (+0.39) and Christopher Groother (+0.75) occupy the other podium spots.

    GB's Marcus Wyatt is 10th.

Run four will get under way at 20:05 GMT. The sliders go in reverse order of the standings, so Weston will be last to go down.
