A shout out to all the pupils at City of London School for Girls - Tabby Stoecker's old school!

They have been showing the skeleton action on all the TVs around the school this afternoon, cheering on their former pupil.

An extra shout out to Miss Gibson too, for sending in this pic.

Stoecker was in third place after run one and will be the 23rd slider down the track in run two.

What an amazing race that was. Metodej Jilek really showed them the way. Sander Eitrem went far too hard to start, all he needed to do was pace himself.

There are 21 years between gold medalist Metodej Jilek and bronze medalist Jorrit Bergsma. He's old enough to be his father!

    Speed skating - men's 10,000m final

Neither Sander Eitrem or Timothy Loubineaud in the final pair can drag some time back in the closing laps and that means 19-year-old Metodej Jilek of the Czech Republic is our Olympic champion!

He adds gold to his silver medal in the 5,000m from a few days ago.

Poland's Vladimir Semirunniy, 23, takes silver, 5:65 seconds off Jilek.

At the opposite end of his career is Jorrit Bergsma of the Netherlands. The 40-year-old has enough for bronze.

Ukrainian skeleton racer Heraskevych reacts to Olympic ban

Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych has had his appeal dismissed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) after being banned from competing at the Winter Olympics for continuing to wear a helmet featuring images of athletes killed during the Russian invasion of his home country.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) banned Heraskevych on Thursday after previously telling the Ukrainian on Tuesday that the helmet "does not comply" with the Olympic charter.

The sole arbitrator representing CAS was "fully sympathetic" towards Heraskevych's commemoration but found the IOC's Athlete Expression Guidelines to be "reasonable and proportionate".

The guidelines state that freedom of speech is a fundamental right of any athlete competing in the Olympic Games, but limit the right to express views during competitions on the field of play.
