It's so strange watching the bobsleighs on this track having spent the last week watching athletes slide down on a baking tray - either feet first or head first.

The sleds all of a sudden look massive. That will be the case even more when the four-man event begins later this week.

Team GB have work to do in heat two but, like most of the teams here, it's really about who can do enough to knock one of the three German teams off the podium.

Could she complete the Milanese set with gold?

    Short Track - Men's 500m

Niall Treacy is Team GB's only short track skater at Milan-Cortina, having been one of three just four years ago at the Beijing Games.

In 2018, meanwhile, GB sent a team of five to PyeongChang.

Speaking to experts, the reason for Treacy's three crashes comes from him training on his own, so not being used to the crowded chaos of big events.

The latest UK Sport funding allocation of just under £2m has been presented as a total for short track, figure and and long track speed skating.

It's a bleak picture for GB speed skating at the moment.

    Bobsleigh two-man

The second heat in the two-man bobsleigh is about to begin, so let's see what Great Britain's Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence can do.

The pair completed their first run in a time of 55.65 seconds and are currently in eighth place.

The Germans are dominating the leader board, with all three of their teams in the podium positions.

Good morning from an incredibly snowy Livigno! I've spent the morning with these two champs, inside the warmth of Team GB HQ.

It's fair to say they had a good night last night, Huw Nightingale in particular...

You may have seen the video doing the rounds on Instagram of him dancing on someone's shoulders.

"It was a great vibe," he told me.

    The women's 1000m semi-finals are up next.

It's two races of five skaters, with the two fastest athletes in each race automatically progressing to the final along with the third fastest placed athlete.

Italy's Arianna Fontana is in the second semi-final against Canada's Courtney Sarault, who has also won mixed team relay silver and 500m bronze at these Games.

A wobbly start for GB's Niall Treacy as he was clipped on the opening corner by South Korea's Rim Jong-un – an 18-year-old high school student won bronze in the 1000m - requiring a restart to the heat.

Some running repairs to Treacy's blades, and we will have another go.
