No drama on serve this time for Jasmine Paolini. A routine hold to 15.

    *Paolini 2-6 3-5 Jovic

Too many loose groundstrokes from Jasmine Paolini. She does well to recover from 0-30 down to level the game but three unforced errors are key to gifting Iva Jovic the hold.

The pressure is back on the Italian, serving to stay in the match. In her past three service games, she's faced six break points and been broken twice...

  3. Paolini holdspublished at 07:28 GMT 23 January

    Paolini 2-6 3-4 Jovic*

Huge hold for Jasmine Paolini, trading backhands with Iva Jovic before stepping round to get the ball on her forehand and spraying the ball into the opposite corner. She played with fire - the ball nearly kissing the tramline - but a point is a point and a hold is a hold.

Had she lost that game, Jovic would have been serving for the match.

  7. Break point Jovicpublished at 07:24 GMT 23 January

    *Paolini 2-6 2-4 Jovic

Jasmine Paolini misses a backhand for 0-15. She stares at the floor, hands on hips, before stepping up for her next serve. She responds with a nicely disguised drop-shot winner.

The pair trade points again for 30-all before Iva Jovic earns another break point. She gets Paolini on the run on the baseline and laps up a looped forehand return, waiting for the ball to rise and pummelling it home.

Whenever she gets a step inside the baseline, Iva Jovic looks quite unstoppable. The American unleashes a down-the-line backhand for 30-0.

A double fault and a forehand into the net bring Jasmine Paolini back into the game but Jovic keeps her composure to consolidate the break, completing the hold with an ace down the T.
