  1. 'Now a mountain to climb'published at 15:19 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

    Jamie Murray
Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC One

That is a bit of killer blow for Borges losing the second set.

He had done a great job controlling the game from the mid-court.

He played a very good set, but couldn't hold his serve. His speed dropped on his forehand. He blinked, gave Sinner that opportunity and now he has a mountain to climb.

  2. Gauff holdspublished at 15:18 BST

    *Sierra 0-1 Gauff

After watching top seed Aryna Sabalenka battle to a straight set win earlier on Court One, Coco Gauff will be eager to do the same.

The American makes a positive start with a routine hold to 15.

  3. 'Borges handed that set to Sinner'published at 15:17 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Nuno Borges hasn't got a good record against top players and you wonder why because he is a very good player, but perhaps that set explains it.

He was serving for the set and made four unforced errors. He got to the tie-breaker and made another three or four unforced errors.

He is walking off the court, to go and change his shirt, shaking his head. He should be because he just handed that set to Jannik Sinner.

Jannik Sinner gets a hefty applause as he wraps up the second set, but the crowd have switched allegiances.

The majority are trying to rally behind Nuno Borges now and he was welcomed to the baseline with a huge roar when he changed ends during that tie-break.

    Sierra 0-0 Gauff*

Right, off we go on Court One with Coco Gauff on serve.

  7. Game and second set - Sinnerpublished at 15:14 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

Nuno Borges served for the set at 5-4 but as he walks off the court for a break, he's down two sets to love. A loose backhand sealed his fate in the tie-break.

    Penny for his thoughts.

  8. Tie-break - set points Sinnerpublished at 15:14 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (6-2) Borges

The backhand winner is followed by a forehand winner. At the back end of this second set, Jannik Sinner has relocated his radar.

  9. Tie-breakpublished at 15:13 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (5-2) Borges

Oh yes! That might be Jannik Sinner's best shot of the day as he finally nails a backhand down the line, the ball landing centimetres from the tramline.

  10. Tie-breakpublished at 15:11 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (3-2) Borges*

Excellent defence from Jannik Sinner to scramble on his backhand and get the ball back into play. It bounces up high in front of Nuno Borges but he puts his forehand into the net. The value of forcing your opponent to play an extra shot, eh?

It's Joao Fonseca time on court 3.

The Brazilian sensation always draws a big crowd from back home in South America. Temporarily, this is going to turn to Copacabana for his second-round match.

It's all been very straightforward in the ladies' singles draw. Just two of the top 20 seeds have been handed an early exit - eighth seed Elina Svitolina and 20th seed Maja Chwalinska.

Argentina's Solana Sierra is looking to add another seed to that list but history suggests she has her work cut out to send seventh seed Coco Gauff home early.

The pair have met twice previously - both earlier this year - with Gauff coming out on top on both occasions.

  13. 'The nerves will come up again'published at 15:10 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (1-2) Borges

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was a good effort from Nuno Borges after a really poor game while serving for the set.

He has settled down nicely and gone back to exactly what he has been doing. I think he managed to get rid of those nerves, but I'm sure they will come up again here in the tie-break.

But the way he has been striking the ball, generally speaking, means he is in with a real shot.

  14. Tie-breakpublished at 15:09 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (1-2) Borges

What a belting return of serve that was from Jannik Sinner. He read Nuno Borges' serve out wide, whipped his backhand around it to open up the court nicely.

Borges wins the next put to put the tie-break on serve.

  15. Tie-breakpublished at 15:08 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (0-1) Borges*

An early mini-break for Nuno Borges as Jannik Sinner sends a backhand long.

  16. Borges holds to force second-set tie-breakpublished at 15:07 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (0-0) Borges

Nuno Borges holds to love. We're going to a tie-break - how unlikely did that seem five minutes ago?

  17. Sinner holds to lovepublished at 15:05 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-5 Borges*

Boom. Jannik Sinner wallops a smash home for 40-0 and holds to love.

Momentum has swung. Nuno Borges will have to serve to stay in the second set.

  18. Gauff up nextpublished at 15:03 BST

Seventh seed Coco Gauff is next up on Court One against Argentina's Solana Sierra.

Gauff has never gone beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon but looked pretty solid, losing just three games, to beat Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets in the first round.

Could this be Gauff's year to enjoy a deep run?

  19. 'Stress of serving for the set is showing'published at 15:02 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 5-5 Borges

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is incredible. Nuno Borges hasn't missed two shots in a row like that for the whole of this second-round match. He has been hitting the ball really cleanly and getting Jannik Sinner on the run today.

It was a pretty regulation backhand into the net and a forehand that went all over the place before wobbling its way six-feet out. The stress of serving for the set showed.

  20. Sinner breakspublished at 15:02 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 5-5 Borges

Another unforced error from Nuno Borges - his fourth or fifth of the game - and Jannik Sinner is back in business in this second set. But my word, how lucky was the Italian?
