We've all been there to some degree like Gary Wilson. Join the club. He's such a talented player. All the players that make it to the Crucible are so talented, but the trouble is when you have to go out there and try to win, not just play, you can beat yourself up.

And somehow you have to get over that. It's not easy. You might need help. But he's still a great player.

A real heart-on-sleeve interview from Gary Wilson. It sounds like he's really battling some demons on the green baize.

We'll hear from Judd Trump shortly.

  3. 'Masking my debilitating problems'published at 22:01 BST 21 April

Gary Wilson, speaking to BBC Four, said: "It's just constant disappointment. I am, and always have been since the age of 13, a better player than this. It's a constant struggle. The yips are getting worse and I'm just riding through it.

"People are being really naive if I'm being totally honest. People who know snooker are watching going 'you're doing good there, missing all the bad shots, the really snatchy ones and not seeing anything a normal good player would notice'. So that's even frustrating because nobody is even seeing what I'm showing them.

"I'm just riding it out. I'm playing okay at time but masking the problems to be totally honest. It's just debilitating at times. Towards the end there you lose a bit of heart and it's not composure. I get that nonsense from commentators as well. It's honestly not composure, it's a little bit of heart and bit of sort of embarrassment when you know you're playing worse at the end of the match than you were at the start.

"I just wish I had a game like I used to have and could come to these tournaments to enjoy it and compete. I'm still sort of competing which is the sad thing. What do you do? There's not a lot you can do. But my game is just letting me down. It's depressing more the years go on."

Six-time world champion on BBC Four

There were some sticky patches but Judd Trump got himself out of them better than his opponent. It's an area of his game that is vastly improved. When he came on the scene as a young player it's all about knocking them and Judd did that well.

Somewhere down the line you learn your trade, your ring craft, because you have to. All of the games that don't go right you have to work out a way to win them. It seems like Judd has cracked the code for that.

  6. Another seed goes throughpublished at 21:48 BST 21 April

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at the Crucible

It is going to be a very, very strong line-up in the last 16. Ten seeded players have finished their matches, all 10 have won.

Judd Trump, the world number one, is the latest big name to advance, thanks to a 10-5 win over Gary Wilson, despite trailing 4-1 earlier today.

Meanwhile, on table one Shaun Murphy is in a real fight at 7-7 against China's Fan Zhengyi.

  7. Trump beats Wilsonpublished at 21:46 BST 21 April

    Trump 10-5 Wilson

Judd Trump was 4-1 down before he got a few lucky escapes to finish the first session 5-4 but there can be no doubting his quality this evening.

The world number one produced some moments of brilliance, but also plenty of graft.

    A deserved victory.

This is why Judd Trump is world number! A gem of a shot.

  9. Flashes of brilliance from Trumppublished at 21:42 BST 21 April

    Trump 9-5 Wilson

Judd Trump is starting to tun on the style as he edges closer to victory over Gary Wilson.

  10. Postpublished at 21:34 BST 21 April

    Trump 9-5 Wilson

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Four

Gary Wilson is feeling like his race his run. It's a great effort from Judd Trump who has won eight out of the last nine frames. It's not been vintage Trump but he was another seed under pressure and he's won the scrappy frames. He'll be pleased with his performance.

  11. Trump one frame awaypublished at 21:32 BST 21 April

    Trump 9-5 Wilson

Not much aggression in a break of 48 from Judd Trump which gives him a good foundation in the 14th frame before an ambitious red into the top-right corner hits the cushion.

Gary Wilson cannot quite get going and rattled the black against the jaws of the pocket.

It proves to be a key miss. Trump returns and compiles a break of 36 to win the frame and put himself one away from reaching the second round.

  12. Postpublished at 21:29 BST 21 April

    Trump 8-5 Wilson

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

I'd like to see Judd Trump being more aggressive in the way he plays. I think the last two or three years he's gone safety conscious with low-risk snooker. A couple of times today he refused to go to the pack. He doesn't got for pots he used to so doesn't intimidate players the way he used to with his aggressive play. He relies on his matchplay but to win this he has to be aggressive.

  13. Fan levels uppublished at 21:20 BST 21 April

A good response from Fan Zhengyi after the mid-session interval as he rattles off a break of 69 to show he's prepared to roll his sleeves up.

Shaun Murphy requires snookers but he does not mind a little bit of graft, either.

The pair play cat and mouse with the last two reds but as soon as they are down, and the possibility of a free ball is extinguished, Murphy concedes the frame.

  14. Postpublished at 21:02 BST 21 April

    Trump 8-5 Wilson

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Four

Maybe Gary Wilson doesn't like playing scrappy snooker as much as Judd Trump does. I don't think Judd is deliberately putting the ball safe, but he is the happier of the two if it does go scrappier.

  15. Trump leads by three framespublished at 20:52 BST 21 April

    Trump 8-5 Wilson

It's been far from a vintage session so far as we head into the interval, but Judd Trump will not care about that one iota now he has a three-frame lead over Gary Wilson.

After a stop-start beginning to the frame Trump finds a bit of fluency at the table and a break of 71 leaves Wilson needing three snookers with two reds remaining.

Wilson plays a blinder to leave Trump stuck behind the pink but the the world number responds with a majestic trick shot - see the clip above - rattling it against the jaws before the cue ball slides up the cushion to a kiss a red.

Moments later, Trump pots the required red and Wilson has seen enough.

Shaun Murphy has edged things stats wise - but there's only one frame in it.

  17. Murphy leads at mid-session intervalpublished at 20:36 BST 21 April

    Murphy 7-6 Fan

An opening break of 60 gives Shaun Murphy a strong platform in the 13th frame.

There's a bit of cat and mouse as Fan Zhengyi attempts to make inroads with some spectacular potting but facing an uphill struggle the Chinese player concedes the frame.

Murphy leads by a frame at the mid-session interval.

  18. Postpublished at 20:30 BST 21 April

    Trump 7-5 Wilson

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Four

I think Judd Trump is the one to beat. He's a great shot maker and a big occasion player. It's jaw-dropping some of the shots he plays. He's the world number one and very competitive these days.

  19. Trump goes two clearpublished at 20:29 BST 21 April

    Trump 7-5 Wilson

Is this a pivotal moment in this match?

Judd Trump compiles a measured break of 45 before he's forced to play a safety shot on the final red.which snookers Gary Wilson.

Wilson fouls and with three snookers needed he concedes the frame.

  20. Fan wins re-spotted blackpublished at 20:19 BST 21 April

    Murphy 6-6 Fan

Shaun Murphy hauls in Fan Zhengyi's total of 62 and the black is re-spotted.

Fan wins it with a double into the top-left corner pocket.

The Chinese player has been handy on the doubles having potted the green with a double down the table to swing the 10th frame his way.
