    Wu 8-5 Vafaei

Goodness me, if you missed that frame, go find the stream on the 'Watch & Listen' tab and just rewind back.

    What a joy to watch.

Full of some of the most fun snooker you'll see once Wu Yize got his chance. A superb 102 clearance that only the eyes - not words - can do justice to.

You don't need to see the result of the pot, you just need to listen to the sound that the ball makes. That's when you know he's cueing it like a dream.

Absolutely loving this tournament! Every match has been incredible. I couldn't call a winner, any one of them would be deserving of the title. What a treat!

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

A reprieve for Zhao Xintong as Shaun Murphy leaves it until the last moment to attempt to go into the remaining reds and then, potting a baulk colour, misses the pack.

Zhao misses a long red and Murphy looks to wrap up the frame with a red to the top corner.

Right into the heart of the pocket.

    Wu 7-5 Vafaei

Just been given access to Wu Yize's dictionary.

Some words have been erased, some underlined.

Pressure, for example, doesn't seem to be in there.

Belter, though, is, with a line underneath it. Like the virtual frame-ball red he's just hammered into the green pocket.

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

Shaun Murphy is one of those players who is almost impossible to stop when they're right at the top of their game.

This looks like being one of those spells.

It's amazing that he hasn't made a century yet in this match, because he is striking the cue ball so cleanly.

His lead in this frame is up to 55.

Zhao Xintong's only hope in this frame is that Murphy can't split the remaining reds, of which he'll need at least one to clinch the frame.

    Wu 7-5 Vafaei

Wu Yize with a real chance to open up a three-frame lead for the first time in this quarter-final.

Crunches in a fine long red to get in, then a delicate cannon to free the pink a few shots later.

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

It seems that Shaun Murphy cannot miss a long pot today.

He powers a red into the corner pocket to start another break and an attempted split of the reds off the black brings a few from the cluster into open play.

Worrying times for fans of Zhao Xintong.

  9. Hossein Vafaei fact filepublished at 16:12 BST 29 April

Hossein Vafaei knocked world number one Judd Trump out of the World Championship on Monday to reach the quarter-finals at the Crucible for the first time in his career.

2022 was a landmark year for Vafaei - his only ranking event victory came during that year at the Shoot Out, while it was also the year in which he became the first player from Iran to appear at the Crucible.

At this year's World Championship, he was the only qualifier to get through the first round, beating Si Jiahui, before a final-frame win over 2019 world champion Trump.

  10. 'Few rubs of the green have gone Wu's way'published at 16:10 BST 29 April

    Wu 7-5 Vafaei

    Rob Walker
    Snooker commentator for BBC TV

There have been a few bits of rubs of the green that have gone Wu Yize's way.

Slightly different dynamic to this frame which is understandable - over halfway through this match now and the prize tonight is huge, a first appearance in the World Championship semi-finals.

    Wu 7-5 Vafaei

The players are back out on Table Two.

Bit of a scrappy start to frame 13 - encapsulated by Wu Yize missing a long red yet somehow managing to leave Hossein Vafaei on nothing despite the cue ball being right at the business end of the table.

  12. Watch: Zhao pots three reds in one shotpublished at 16:05 BST 29 April

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

While Zhao Xintong and Shaun Murphy are at the interval, take a look at this shot from Zhao in their second session last night.

Definitely sure that it wasn't what he played, but Zhao potted three reds in one go - a trick shot that the late John Virgo would have been proud of.

  13. 'Why can't I win this?'published at 16:02 BST 29 April

    Result: Hawkins 11-13 Allen

    Mark AllenImage source, PA Media

Mark Allen was in pretty buoyant mood speaking to the media after reaching his third Crucible semi-final earlier today: "The first hurdle here is getting through that first round, and then the next one you're asking 'can I get to the one table setup?'

"Then obviously you want to give yourself a chance on Sunday and Monday. I haven't done that yet.

"That's the next step for me. But I've got plenty of experience to go with it. I've lost in the semis twice, 17-13 and 17-15, so I've been well involved in those games. Hopefully I just play the way I have been, maybe improve slightly. I just believe in myself because I've won everything else, so why can't I win this?

"I am thinking about it because I come here every year thinking I can win it for the first time."

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

Shaun is playing, still, with total freedom in the most severe of tension.

If you had to pick a player to outplay Zhao Xintong in the free-playing, break-building, potting balls like you're down the club, maybe Shaun is the player.

Out there, at the moment, he's still playing with a freedom in his arm that reminds me of when he first burst on the scene and won it [in 2005], when he played with a big smile on his face and nothing was ever a problem for him.

    That's a dangerous player.

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

A very important frame for Shaun Murphy. He had to work very hard and his safety is better.

He's just finding Zhao out with a few safety shots and it's costing him, particularly when it comes down to the colours or the last red. Shaun has just got a little bit more tactical nous.

  16. Murphy two frames aheadpublished at 15:53 BST 29 April

    Zhao 9-11 Murphy

Another fine pot from distance, this time on the blue, secures the frame for Shaun Murphy.

He's won three of the four frames so far this afternoon to move 11-9 ahead and within two frames of a place in the semi-finals.

Defending champion Zhao Xintong is bang up against it as the pair head out of the arena for their mid-session interval.

  17. Postpublished at 15:51 BST 29 April

    Zhao 9-10 Murphy

How's your cueing, Shaun Murphy? A straight, mid-distance green and stun the white to stay on the brown?

He's up to the test. The brown disappears too and Zhao Xintong needs a snooker.

Murphy will have to play safe off the blue though, and he plays it well, leaving Zhao snookered.

    Zhao 9-10 Murphy

This is shaping up to be a key frame in the context of this match.

There haven't been too many tactical battles and losing this one just before the mid-session interval could be a hammer blow to whoever ends up on the wrong side of it.

  20. Postpublished at 15:44 BST 29 April

    Zhao 9-10 Murphy

Only the pink ball is on its spot here and a couple of colours are by cushions, so a clearance in one visit looks exceptionally tricky.

Some of them are well placed for snookers and Zhao Xintong's tally is boosted by four points when Shaun Murphy fails to hit the yellow.

A few shots later, Murphy pots the yellow in the middle before playing safe off the green.

53-40 to Murphy with 25 points on the table.
