As a gentleman of 60 years young, wishing Ronnie a very happy birthday I would just like to add that yourself and the rest of the players of the same age have been together like the first Rock and Roll stars. Without your influence on the game I think it could have stayed less exciting. Well done all of you.

Wouldn't it be beneficial if snooker considered using a projector directly onto the snooker playing surface? The projector could then display the exact location of the balls where they were before each miss shot was taken. This approach would demonstrably save a significant amount of valuable time for referees, who are currently required to manually review screens constantly, searching for the source of each misplaced ball. By visualizing the balls' previous positions directly on the table, referees would be able to pinpoint the errant shot instantly, eliminating the need for extensive screen checks. This streamlined process would significantly enhance the overall flow and efficiency of the game.

Robertson 3-1 Pang
Pang Junxu gets so unlucky as he pots a tough red to the middle and then watches the white bounce off tyhe bottom cushion, hit the black and divert it into the other middle bag.
While he gets a repreieve, Pang eventually ends up missing a yellow to the left middle that costs him the frame.
Trump 2-2 Ding

Neil Robertson makes a break of 58 but then misses frame ball.

Very interesting debate during the Trump v Ding game about the effect of the tighter pockets in this year’s tournament. Are pocket dimensions not prescribed in the rules and standard?

They are David. There is a World Snooker template that has to be followed that allows for slight variances.
Trump 1-2 Ding
Judd Trump reduces his arrears with a 73. He looks fluent until missing a tricky yellow but he'd already put the frame out of reach.
Robertson 1-1 Pang
Neil Robertson gets back on terms. It's not one visit stuff but he'll be more than happy that Pang Junxu did not pot a single ball in that frame.
Trump 0-2 Ding
Ding Junhui has begun this match really, really well. Two breaks, both over 80 have given him a nice early cushion over Judd Trump.
Robertson 0-1 Pang
Pang Junxu takes the opening frame against Neil Robertson. That will help settle any early nerves.
Pang Junxu's fortuitous early pot helps give him the lead
Trump 0-1 Ding
Ding Junhui started like a train in his win over Scott Donaldson on Thursday and he does the same today against the defending champion and world number one Judd Trump.
A carefully crafted break of 89 gives him the opening frame.

I fancy Judd Trump because I have not seen Ding Junhui beat one of the elite players for a long time.It doesn't mean he can't because he has the pedigree and quality but I just feel that Judd is getting slowly better.
He looks a little bit vulnerable when his opponent comes at him and it is close but generally he looks to be playing very well.

It's a journey into the unknown. Historically the World Championship has thrown up more surprises than the UK and it has usually been an established player that has won this event.
A couple of players could maybe upset that applecart, Pang Junxu and Zhang Anda but it is a tough ask for them.
