The world number compiles a gritty break of 74 to regain the lead in what has been a tight match in both sessions.

Trump is one frame ahead but it would not be a surprise to see this session end with things all square again.

A fantastic century break from Judd Trump. It's been a fantastic standard of snooker this afternoon. Really high quality.

It's almost been as if Judd Trump has been listening to Stephen Hendry's comments from the commentary box today.

The world number draws level with Hossein Vafaei as he delivers a superb century break to win the frame in just one visit as per Hendry's request.

Trump is not quite able to complete the clearance after missing the final red with the rest, but that will not matter on iota to the Englishman.

Chris Wakelin is not gonna die wondering.

Not everything he's tried has come off, but he is going attack, attack, attack.

But a huge moment as he pots a long red but apparently feathers the nearby yellow with his cue in doing so.

The ref calls a foul and asks for a replay - and is happy with her decision when she sees it.

MASSIVE moment. It looked like going 7-7 with Wakelin 40-odd up but now...

Hossein Vafaei has been very composed in this match and takes the lead again. Judd Trump has not really got into the extra gear where he wins frames in one visit in this match, or in the World Snooker Championship as a whole, yet.

When Chris potted that red, he had a small little shake of the head as if to say "I've made hard work of this".

He's just trying to find something to get himself going in this match - he knows he's not playing well but he's hanging on in there and that's all you can do sometimes.

Very little to choose between these two players before the mid-session interval the match appears to be following the same pattern after it.

Another tight frame of nip and tuck before Hossein Vafaei is able to capitalise on a chance.

At 39-18 in Judd Trump's favour the Englishman leaves a red on escaping a snooker and Vafaei carefully constructs a clearance with a break of 65 to seal the frame.

How will the world number one respond to going behind?

It wasn't entirely convincing - as he needed four bites at the cherry - but Chris Wakelin again cuts his deficit to a single frame.

At this stage of a best-of-25 match, these frames - when there are two frames between the players at the start - feel massive.

The difference between 8-5 and 7-6 feels huge - and it's the latter after Wakelin pots an excellent red to finally secure the frame.

But Neil Robertson gets the better of that mini-session to inch closer to a first World Championship quarter-final since 2021.
