It's been a very strange game so far.

It feels like there's been a lot of mistakes and now Japan have been given a great opportunity to nudge in front again.

    Takuro Matsunaga

It's about 25 metres out and pretty central, and Takuro Matsunaga lands the kick to put Japan back ahead.

    Well deserved, too.

Another error at line-out. This is not from Japanese pressure and it's not acceptable at this level to not be able to get that away.

The line-out struggles continue as Craig Casey can't gather James Ryan's tap back from the throw.

    That's another sloppy error.

Talk about an impact player. Some strike rate for a back row.

That was a lovely passage of play from Ireland.

First few phases it looked like Ireland were struggling but they were really, really patient.

Couple of good carries, very patient, very organised and Nick Timoney got his body height down and got over the line.

That was really good from Ireland there to get into the position and we know how ruthless they are from there.

Ireland have a scrum midway through the Japan half as they look to respond.

They gift wrapped that one for Taira Main.

The Japan wing was the Main man for that try.

The Irish line-out woes continue. He still has to finish it and it's a nice try but a very nervy start for Ireland.

    Taira Main (con Matsunaga)

    Out of nowhere! Japan lead!

Ronan Kelleher puts too much on his throw from the line out and Ciaran Frawley slips coming out of the line.

That opens up a gap for Taira Main, whose poor kick led to that line out, and the wing sprints through unchallenged to score.

    Takuro Matsunaga converts.

Busy first minute of play. Good from an Ulster point of view to see Nick Timoney get involved early on. Both teams with a bit of shadow boxing early on.
