Sione Tuipulotu burrows for the line, and is held up, then there's another push for Scotland this time...

As Bayliss goes with the ball under his right arm it seems as if his shoulder goes to ground and the ball pops up at his hip.

  4. No try - Fiji 17-14 Scotlandpublished at 58 mins

    Scotland are over! No!

Schoeman was close again after a great drive from Duhan van der Merwe. The ball was recycled to Josh Bayliss who pounced but he knocked it on and couldn't touch it down.

    Fiji 17-14 Scotland

Pierre Schoeman got a huge reception as he came off the bench and he soon showed why. Terrific power and finish from the Edinburgh prop.

That's what Scotland have needed to do.

Going hard and straight and getting support runners there to make sure Fiji get no sniff of the ball.

  7. converted try

Converted try - Fiji 17-14 Scotlandpublished at 54 mins

    Pierre Schoeman (Con Burke)

Wallop! That's much more like it as replacement Schoeman absolutely flies into the line and has three men on him but nobody can stop him!

    The crowd love that.

    Fiji 17-7 Scotland

Scotland have half an hour to turn this around. They don't seem to have too many ideas at the moment with Fiji solid, strong and serene in defence.

    Fiji 17-7 Scotland

Fiji rip the ball cleanly in a tackle, they are dominating the breakdown at the moment. There's an air of disbelief in the, err, air in Edinburgh.

    Fiji 17-7 Scotland

Scotland have Fiji pinned back in their own half but they have defended superbly all day. Here come some changes.

Scotland send on four new faces including Jamie Dobie and Pierre Schoeman.

    Fiji 17-7 Scotland

Scotland look to be trying a few more bombs in the air in this half and compete well and win the first one. Then after a lengthy but slow buildup they maul for the line but can't get the ball out and Fiji turn it over. Terrific defence once more.

There are plenty of Scotland replacements warming up behind the posts at the far end as Gregor Townsend's side look to make a fast start and chase down this 10-point deficit.

Scotland just look a wee bit predictable.

It's almost a good position for Scotland to be in because we've seen them respond to difficult positions before.

But with this team, the 14 changes, maybe a lot of players who are on the pitch haven't been in this situation before. It's a nice position in some ways for the 15 on the pitch because they know they can fix this.

Scotland's decision making on the ball has come under scrutiny so far in the Nations Championship andddd - it's the same story so far isn't it?

  16. Fiji flyingpublished at 15:04 BST 18 July

There is always a lot to enjoy when Fiji are in town. Scotland had lots of the play and pressure but failed to find a finish when on top and the visitors/home side have been so clinical and explosive with ball in hand...

If you rewind four or five weeks when this Fiji squad was announced, everybody thought "wow this is special", but because the two performances have been so poor, we've maybe been fooled into thinking that Fiji are miles off it, but they're a quality outfit.

    Fiji 17-7 Scotland

That was superb, clinical stuff with a man in the bin from Fiji. They soaked up a world of pressure and then in one attack sliced through to score.

Fiji now back up to 15 men.

They're attacking exactly how you want Scotland to attack with pace, variety, discipline, accuracy, it's outstanding.

They're patient, they pick off the Scotland defenders and then just go up the guts. It's an outstanding team effort from Fiji.
