We talked about Rhys Carre almost scoring earlier on which would have been a third try in three games.

Now he has done it with an extraordinary effort. He was more like an outside centre than a prop!

I am not sure if a Wales prop has ever scored three tries in successive games. Off to check the record books!

I've never seen anything like it, this is huge!

Fair play to Rhys Carre, what a run, he's quick for a prop!

That is absolutely incredible from Rhys Carre. It was like watching a winger go down the outside!

Converted Try - Ireland 12-10 Walespublished at 40 mins

    Rhys Carre (con Edwards)

OH MY DAYS! WHAT A TRY FROM RHYS CARRE!

The big prop gets the ball 30 metres out. He puts his head down and charges forward, shrugs off Baloucoune and races clear over the line.

That's a try a wing would be proud of, never mind a prop!

Dan Edwards converts off the post.

    Ireland 12-3 Wales

Robert Baloucoune loses the ball in the air and Wales have a scrum deep in the 39th minute.

In fact, the clock ticks into the red before the ball is fed.

Can Wales create one last chance?

Wales were putting their bodies on the line but they eventually ran out of bodies. Steve Tandy will be really proud of them in this first half but they may live to regret not getting over the Ireland line when they had them under pressure.

You can feel that's more important for Ireland before half-time.

It was coming, but Wales defence and tackles have been immense.

It's taken it out of them a little, they're still in the game but they need to keep the pressure.

That Welsh defence took some beating, but Ireland finally wore them down and it was a nice, composed finish by Jack Crowley.

Wales probably deserve to be within a score at half-time, but they won't be overly disheartened with that.

This one's a long way from done.

    Jack Crowley

    They can!

Jack Crowley spots a gap and darts over!

Ireland were camped on the line and created a two-on-one out wide. Crowley can either stick Stockdale over in the corner or go himself, and he makes the right call as he races over.

His conversion attempt is wide though.

Ireland are back on the five metre line but the Welsh defence is superb again.

Can the hosts finally make their pressure count?

Amazing work from Alex Mann there. So brave but Wales' close-range and breakdown defence has been excellent.

Still a long way to go but this is what the Welsh supporters have been wanting to see for a long time. Commitment, commitment, commitment

    Gary, Tredgar

Pretty attritional rugby from both sides . Absolutely no flair at all. Quite boring really. France far superior to both of these sides.

That's an incredible set by Wales!

How they held Irelands defence there, that intercept by Alex Mann was incredible.

If Alex Mann was 2 inches taller, he would be one of the best players. He's developed so much.

Ireland win the penalty as Ben Carter sticks a hand out in the middle of the park and that's a deliberate knock on.

Crowley brings Ireland about 15 metres out.

Five to go until the break.

The early Wales defence appeared to be too passive but a switch just seems to have been flicked.

Some of the hits have been huge and Wales are growing in confidence because of it.

Jamison Gibson-Park is looking dangerously fresh compared to the Welsh defenders!

Alex Mann with a wonder interception! If he got that wrong it was a certain try as Gibson-Park looked to fizz the ball across to Garry Ringrose with the try line gaping.

The big back row was chopped down so he couldn't race away, but it was a massive read.

Desperate defence, Wales were defending for their lives.

Ireland around that middle third there's nothing going on, but when they're in the 22 they come alive.

It was very well done whoever was doing the dark arts the bottom of that ruck.

    Make that 30 centimetres out!

Tadhg Beirne is so close to getting over but Wales somehow drag the ball over the line, so Ireland have the scrum five metres out.

Gibson-Park is back on for Doak, who I'm sure we'll see later on again.
