There's a worry for Scotland as Ewan Ashman, already on for George Turner, needs some treatment.

He's going to try and continue as the break draws near.

Stuart McCloskey with another belter of a run to get Ireland into a good position. He bounced off Tuipultou like he was a trampoline.

Crowley dinks a kick through but it bounces into touch.

This is looking like another in an elongating series of ‘what ifs’ with this Scotland core. Maybe next year will be our year... or the year after, or maybe the next. For all the talk of England’s mental frailty, we just don’t have the mindset to perform when anything meaningful is on the line. Might not help to have a coach from the ‘try hard, win nothing’ generation of Scottish rugby

It's pure chaos as the ball is knocked back in the tackle and Darcy Graham hacks it forward.

There's a foot race and Blair Kinghorn thinks he has won it against Baloucoune but can't gather the ball, and Josh van der Flier calms things down.

Jamison Gibson-Park says enough is enough and boots it into touch. The sensible old head he is.

Tommy O'Brien gets away from one as he jumps out of the line but Kinghorn's pass to Steyn is forward, and Ireland will have the scrum.

Same old story for Scotland, so far. They have all the flashy skill and moves, but when it comes to the ugly stuff, they are second best to this dog of an Irish team.

Despite the odd error here and there, and allowing Scotland to reach their 22, Ireland are showcasing why they are one of the best in the world. I still see France winning the Championship, but worthy runners up.

Crowley kicks it through and it bounces kindly for Kinghorn, who wins possession back to Scotland.

The fast start has died down a bit, but it's still intriguing.

Ireland have the ball back just inside the Scottish half as the big men look to put some dents in the blue wall.

Ireland have been mean in defence and they win the penalty. Tadhg Furlong and Tadhg Beirne celebrated that like a try.

Andy from Glasgow with the commentator's curse as Russell dinks the ball over the top.

It causes chaos and Tommy O'Brien, rather unconventionally, kicks it into touch to be safe.

Scotland have the throw just inside the 22.

Russell totally off it today. Three major errors so far.

    Andy, Glasgow

Ireland saving their best for last, and Scotland making more errors than last week. Ominous.

Gibson-Park also isn't messing about and he hammers the ball into touch after Ireland won the scrum on their own line.

Why Scotland have left one of the most unbelievable wingers in that much space I will never know. You have got to keep a man out wide to protect the threat of Baloucoune.

There's another ticking off from Luke Pearce to both captains for players trying to question his calls.

He's not messing about and Doris and Tuipulotu go back to their respective camps to pass the message on.

    They've been warned.

Scotland win the throw...but Ireland turn it over and win the scrum!

    That's huge defence.

Gregor Townsend has his hands on his head. It's just not clicking so far.

Scotland have it but in their own half and they go to the air again.

Jack Crowley gathers it but he's quickly gobbled up by Graham.

Rory Darge then does really well at the ruck to win it back for Scotland, and Russell sticks the penalty into the corner.

    This is a good platform.
