Townsend will never win us must win games. Yes England and France were good but we have been horrid on the road. Change must happen. His Ireland record is indefensible.

    George, Aberdeen

Ireland from here, Scotland so good at home but away from home is different, lost to Italy, could and perhaps should have lost to Wales. Ireland to see this out

    Graham, Mudeford

I'm surprised that anyone is surprised that this version of Scotland have turned up. Same old, same old.

As things stand, Ireland move to the top of the Six Nations table.

But there's a lot of rugby to be played, with the all-important bonus points likely to come into play, too.

You can trust Scotland to perform v Ireland about as much as you can trust Ireland to perform at the world cup.

What's happened to Scotland after their outstanding play against France last Sat?

    AC, Scotland

Ireland just have Scotlands number. The fact Townsend hasn't managed to figure Ireland out in all these years needs to be questioned

Including the Home/Five Nations, Scotland have trailed by more than 12+ points at half-time on 27 occasions in the Championship.

They went on to win just one of those matches - however, that win came the last time they trailed by such a margin at the break against Wales in this year's tournament.

Wow! What a player he is! Baloucoune! Wonder if he could be in the race for Six nations star player!

    Munde, Enfield

Fine margins, but Ireland are just winning the breakdown contest annd that’s giving them a better platform. Finn Russell has made two or three mistakes and it has cost Scotland both possession and territory. Scotland will need to be perfect in the second half.

    What a half of rugby!

    This half-time talk is crucial.

If Ireland score next, the game is dead and buried.

Still, Ulster were 19-7 down at Edinburgh last night and won 19-40.

    Here's an ominous stat.

Ireland are unbeaten in their last 30 Six Nations matches at home when leading at half-time.

They've won 28 of them and drawn two.

Awful from Scotland, basic errors in a high profile game.. too many penalties given away to win this game.

    Calum, Glasgow

Ireland bullying Scotland forwards, ref ignores Irish obstruction and Scotland over complicating everything….Ireland deserve their lead….

    Iain, Stirling

Ireland have been clinical, Scotland have been poor. Playing like the under 12s currently

That just about sums up Scotland's half.

They win the free-kick from a scrum but Huw Jones' pass it to no-one, and Sione Tuipulotu knocks it forward on the ground.

    That's all rather messy.

This is Russell‘s moment to prove if he is truly a world class fly-half or not quite that. We know he is the greatest when they are on top but the best can pull it off when the backs are against the wall… does he have it in there?
