    Absolutely vital for Scotland.

Great patience and accuracy through phase after phase.

Boy did Scotland need that - game on.

Game on! Finn Russell sneaks over the line!

Scotland were pressing and pressing, and Russell spots a gap to race over.

The fly-half is told to move his kick a metre across the pitch, but, unfazed, Russell slots it over anyway.

Tadhg Briene has a bit of blood coming from his face so we're going to have a stoppage so he can get cleaned up.

Darragh Murray is on for his Ireland debut in his place. All six foot seven of him. He's a big man.

Tadhg Beirne is worth three men in defence. Every game this Championship he has won massive turnovers at the breakdown, especially at Twickenham.

There's a quick check for a high tackle from Caelan Doris on Ashman, but Luke Pearce doesn't think any further action is warranted.

Darcy Graham skips past Ringrose and McCloskey with some lovely footwork, and he's then hammered by O'Brien.

That was a nice battle between the two 14s.

Scotland still have it and have the penalty advantage.

What a turnover from Tadhg Beirne and a great kick from Gibson-Park.

Finn Russell is possibly the most important player on the pitch if Scotland are going to turn this deficit around. When he finds his note the Scottish players respond to him.

    Ireland 19-7 Scotland

Ireland’s game management is impressive. Their control is making it very hard for Scotland to play their natural game. More scores to come I am sure. Fascinating tactical match.

Just not happening for Scotland/Russell today. It's like we are a different team away from Murrayfield

Joe McCarthy grabs Ben White and drags him a few metres backwards.

Scotland retain it but have been pushed back up the pitch.

Did someone put soap on the ball at the break?

Caelan Doris is the next to spill it forward.

That scrum turns into a penalty as Ben White was played off the ball, and Russell can clear.

The neutral is looking for Scotland to score first because if it is a free scoring game you would fancy Ireland to run away with it so the first five minutes are huge for this Scottish team. Big uphill battle but not insurmountable.

It's a scrappy start to the second half as the ball is knocked forwards again and Ireland will have the scrum just inside the Scottish half.
