Scarlets desperately need to get out of their own half, it's been all Ulster after the break.

They've had two massive let-offs, but Ulster probably won't need a third invitation to score.

The 6,695 home crowd are doing everything to get behind their team.

There's a real energy to the Scarlets now.

You can hear the whooping and hollering after a big scrum penalty temporarily relieves the pressure.

Ulster are back on the ball in the opposition half already.

This time the kick through works a treat and Ulster think they are level.

It's Jack Murphy who nudges into the corner and David McCann wins the footrace.

Oh, but there'll be another review.

And on that angle it's a clear knock-on. Another one goes begging for Ulster. That won't help the frustration.

A couple of nice carries from Scott Wilson since he's come on for Ulster too.

Scarlets, though, continue to hold them at arm's length and McCloskey just tries to poke a grubber through to no avail.

    Frustration growing for the visitors.

    Not this time anyway!

Scarlets defence on their line continues to hold firm and David McCann is held up over the line.

One of those new front rows, Eric O'Sullivan, makes an early impact as he gets the turnover.

Ulster to the corner again...surely they have to make this pressure count soon?

Blair Murray hobbling off will be a worrying sight for Wales boss Steve Tandy ahead of the Six Nations.

He looks in quite a bit of discomfort as he takes a seat in the stands.

Before all that, wing Blair Murray, who has been sharp, makes way because of an injury.

Ulster, meanwhile, call for a new front row.

You could hear the reaction from the crowd as Flannery received that final pass.

It's a let off for the Scarlets.

From the resulting scrum, Scarlets look to move it but James Hume intercepts.

He doesn't have the gas to go the whole way but Ulster's patience pays off as they go from right to left and all the way back again for Jake Flannery to go over.

But was the last pass forward? It sure did.

No score for Ulster and that's a hugely frustrating one for Richie Murphy's side.

    Scarlets 17-12 Ulster

Scarlets finding it very difficult to exit now they're playing into the wind.

They get a break, though, as Werner Kok takes his eye off the ball and fumbles forward.

Postlethwaite, usually a centre but on as a wing, gets his first carry but seems to forget where the touchline is and gets easily shepherded out of play.

The visitors have made a change at half-time with Jude Postlethwaite on for Robert Baloucoune.

Ulster still putting the pressure on to start this second half.

That mistake, or mistakes technically, don't prove costly as Ulster go for the corner but get turned over.

Hindsight never fails but was that a time to go for three for Ulster?

We're back under way and Scarlets almost immediately give away a penalty as they fumble the restart forward and pick it up in an offside position.

A huge half coming up for Scarlets, both in terms of this game and in their season as they attempt to climb off the foot of the United Rugby Championship table.

Scarlets are usually in the fight at the break, but have faded away in the latter stages.

Discipline and taking chances will be key.

  18. Half-time - Scarlets 17-12 Ulsterpublished at 15:48 GMT 24 January

Scarlets certainly value for their lead after those 40 minutes, but Ulster will have the wind at their backs in the second half.

How big a difference will that make?

    Not this time!

It's a case of see ball, get ball from Stuart McCloskey.

The ball is left unprotected and the Irish centre can't believe his luck as he picks up and allows Nathan Doak to boot clear.

    Scarlets 17-12 Ulster

Ulster are caught offside and it's a very kickable penalty for Scarlets...this time, though, they turn down a shot at the posts for the corner.

It's a big roll of the dice, will it pay off?
