Caden Murley fluffs his lines right in front of the posts, spilling a pass from Rodrigo Isgro when it seemed easier to score.

Sale run it back at Quins, Tom O'Flaherty streaking down the left wing before being brought down. The ball moves infield, Quins infringe and George Ford has another penalty chance.

This time the England fly-half makes no mistake, from further out and a bit wider than his miss earlier, but he manages to land the penalty and Sale lead.

Luke Northmore jogs off and is replaced by Jarrod Evans, resulting in a big rejig in the Quins backline. Marcus Smith has shifted to full-back and Evans is at fly-half.

The Harlequins man is clutching his elbow and there's a lengthy stoppage to see whether he goes off or not.

A Quins scrum five metres from their own line disintegrates, but Sale's Asher Opoku-Fordjour is penalised and Quins kick the safety down field.

More Sale pressure, but again they leave empty-handed after Sam Dugdale drops the ball right on the Quins try line.

That breeze I mentioned?

Marcus Smith launches a kick from the 22 to use the wind, but it bounces over Tom O'Flaherty's head and rolls out of play behind the try line.

Sale mount their first concerted attack, moving right, then left along the 22 but the move breaks down when the ball is spilled wide out on the left flank.

Nip and tuck so far.

Alex Dombrandt taps and goes at a penalty and is stopped right on the line. Sale's defence has been excellent, and they manage to clear, and to make things better Marcus Smith misjudges a kick into the wind, and knocks on to relieve the pressure on Sale.

The wind is really swirling around at pitchside, the flags bending in the breeze.

Quins fly-half Marcus Smith chips ahead and Tom O’Flaherty does well to stop it on the line, before knocking on to conceded the scrum on five metres.

But Sale are equal to the task and do enough to win a scrum penalty, that George Ford hoofs towards halfway.

Gus Warr kicks to the Quins 22, Rodrigo Isgro runs it back and then Sale's Joe Carpenter fluffs a catch to concede a throw in the Sale half.

Marcus Smith chips the kick-off to Sale's left flank, and the away side knock on straight away to concede a scrum inside their own 22.

The lights have been doused and the teams have emerged to fireworks, with smoke now drifting across The Stoop.

It's a bit blustery in south-west London, but nothing like the storm that seemed to break over Glasgow earlier.

England international Marcus Smith is back at fly-half for Harlequins after missing last weekend's Prem victory against Bristol Bears.

Will Evans returns in the back row as one of four changes from that match.

Sale prop Asher Opoku-Fordjour will make his first appearance since November after recovering from elbow and shoulder problems.

Dan du Preez and Gus Warr start at number eight and scrum-half respectively, while Rob du Preez and Raffi Quirke are out because of injuries.
