  1. France 'took their foot off the gas'published at 22:06 GMT 5 February

    FT: France 36-14 Ireland

    Former France hooker on ITV

It's a special performance, if you dig into it there will be a lot to say. France in the second half took their foot off the gas and Ireland came back, their bench did a lot of good. It was still a satisfactory night for France.

Was that a statement performance from France?

    Ben Kay
    Former England lock on ITV

Tough for Ireland, they were completely physically outplayed those first 60 minutes.

From a French point of view, they can do it on a Thursday night knowing all the other teams in the Six Nations are watching in their hotels. They've laid down a marker.

We had about 10 minutes of the Ireland team we love to watch....this is painful to watch

    Sam, Galway

I am sure there are few Irish fans fuming with tonight's TMO decisions

    Tom, Yorkshire

Relentless and flourishing in first half, started and ended second half in similar fashion, little nervy blip in between but France have sent out an early statement tonight, what a start to the Six Nations

France start their title defence with a very, very impressive win in Paris.

    Theo Attissogbe (con Ramos)

And they do finish with a flourish!

Theo Attissogbe races over in the final play!

It was a great offload from Emmanuel Meafou to find Jalibert, and he pops it off to the French wing to score.

    Lovely hands, and Ramos converts.

It has been an incredible night and we have seen this French team evolve. This team looks like they can push on.

It's definitely late and looks bad in slow motion but I'd like to see the replay in real time.

That was late, but the officials felt he had committed to the tackle so no further action is needed.

We're into the final two minutes.

It's kicked forward and James Ryan is making friends with a few French players for a late hit on Jalibert.

Nicolas Depoortere is over the line but he's in a mass of bodies and it's held up.

Sam Prendergast kicks clear from the restart, but France come again as they gather it.

I do think it's has been better from this Irish team but I question if this French team have pulled up the handbrake a bit.

Ireland have five minutes to find three scores, which seems unlikely.

But the final 20 minutes have been much better than the opening hour, so there's that at least.
