FT: France 36-14 Ireland
France had everything Ireland did not have, match was over after 60 minutes, French subs on, left Dupont and Ramos on to see out the result. Brutal from Ireland, they have not evolved but missing Hansen, Lowe, Aki and Keenan.
Niall, Ireland
Not a single Ireland player would get into France’s 23.

Why oh why did Ireland keep kicking away possession that they failed to win in the air. The moment they kept ball in hand they come back into it. Poor tactical thinking.

There was no capitulation in this Irish side, this could have been a horror show after the second Bielle-Biarrey try. There is sometimes a way to lose games and we saw that against South Africa, you don't want to be losing admirably, we are way past that but when you are 29 points behind you have to dig deep and see what is inside you. In fairness, they got 14 points.
Our concerns before the game have been reinforced and France were only in third gear in that second half and they were able to close it out.
I don't know outside of this 23 where we are going to make improvements in this competition.

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell on his 'lack of intensity' comments: "I think you make your own luck in this game. Without the ball, I thought we lost that battle in the first half. The things like the high ball and winning the scraps on the floor, running through tackles or missing tackles etc - that's the main part of the game.
"We certainly came off second best in that regard in the first half. Our response was gallant, but that's not what we want to be, we don't want to be a responding team. We needed to show it from the get go."

More from Andy Farrell on ITV: "I thought France were at times [exceptional] with the athletes they have and the power and their offloading ability in those kind of conditions, it's pretty difficult and it looks like they were playing a different game at one stage.
"Showing a bit of fight and character was what was needed, it's easier to do that when you regroup at half-time and you are already points down, but fair play to the subs who came on and got a go forward for us.
"Reacting when it is too late isn't how we want to do things but France played well. We've all been involved in this competition and know it can throw up different things so this result is not a good one for us but it has to stand for something.
"We'll be honest, we are an honest group and we'll make sure we use this in the right manner. It's a must"
Nick Timoney and Jack Conan really gave impetus. From Andy Farrell's point of view, he will be bitterly disappointed, but a few people put their hand up and said 'pick me I'll give you the physicality that was lacking first half'.
'Lack of intensity' in Irish first half - Farrellpublished at 22:27 GMT 5 February

FT: France 36-14 Ireland
Ireland head coach Andy Farrell speaking to ITV: "There's a lot going through our minds at this moment in time, we're very disappointed, through something I never thought I'd say about this Ireland team, a lack of intensity in the first half.
"Missed tackles, missing the scraps on the ground and the ball in the air, it's just intention and if that is lacking you are not going to win any international game never mind one in Paris."
Grace Davitt Former Ireland centre on BBC Radio Ulster
Ireland just couldn't get enough ball to threaten France. The French bench is so impactful and so was Ireland's but there was just an onslaught of power off teh France bench.
A weak Ireland team blown away by France. Big win, big shift after a decade of Irish dominance or at the worst being second. French looked very strong - for good or bad we probably saw the Six Nations decided rather earlier than normal.
Will, London
Good performance by France, but Ireland were, for 70 minutes very, very poor. No pace on the break and too much reliance on the kicking game. Are Ireland paying for not introducing younger players and sticking with the older ones?

France bigger, faster, stronger than Ireland and played with more flair. Ireland game now looks a bit outdated
France defence coach Shaun Edwards on ITV: "We're very happy. I thought our attack was fantastic and we dominated possession and territory. That's unusual against Ireland, they normally do that to their opponent.
"It [the French attack] was a joy to watch at times. You want to see it in training, it's incredible. I thought Ireland they showed they are a really good team to come back, but it was nice to get the win and the try right at the end because the fans deserved that.
"We plays Wales away next, and we know they are very organised. I know their coaches and we have to make sure we can handle that."

More from Doris speaking to ITV on what they need to improve against Italy: "It all starts with defence, we needed a strong defence and we didn't have it. Quite a few lessons learned and we are going to need to be better at home next week."
'We were too passive defensively' - Dorispublished at 22:10 GMT 5 February

FT: France 36-14 Ireland
Ireland captain Caelan Doris speaking on ITV: "We left ourselves too tall a mountain to climb in the first half. We were too passive defensively, there were 19 missed tackles which allowed them to flourish with keeping the ball alive and their attacking game.
"The first 30 minutes we couldn't find our feet, we allowed them to get phases and score off the back. The bench made a good impact when they came on got us back into the game a bit and got our energy going so there was a bit of grit and determination in the second half. Very disappointing way to start the campaign."
