Jai Field has the ball over the line for Wigan but we're going back to video referee Jack Smith!

    Wakefield 16-12 Wigan

    Oof!

Jai Field has just tried one of the most audacious kick chases you'll ever see having raced for his own kick from well inside his own half.

It didn't come off, but Wakefield needed two bites of the cherry to scoop the ball back up.

There's a bit of needle in this tie at the minute and I for one am loving it. Great tie.

    Wakefield 16-12 Wigan

Four-ish minutes before the break for Wigan to make their player advantage count before half-time.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mago's come off for a head injury assessment, with Kian McDermott coming on in his place.

I think he will take that.

He is a very, very lucky lad.

    Petulant is the right word.

Jazz Tevaga's sent to the bin for what referee Liam Moore deems a "petulant" kick out on Wigan's Liam Marshall.

There's a lot to sort out here.

This is a huge decision in the match.

If he's kicked out here, he's off.

Dear oh dear. Wigan's Liam Marshall spills a high ball.

Fortunately for him it goes backward, but play is held up shortly afterwards when Marshall kicks out from a tackle and then Jazz Tevaga kicks back at him in response.

Tevaga is down receiving treatment in the aftermath. What's going to happen here? The officiating team are discussing it for some time..

The brilliance of this try. We got to get three views of that because the Video Ref was having a look.

It was a beautiful finish. Super Wakefield try.

    Tom Johnstone

    What a try.

If you thought Wakefield were letting this game slip from their grasp after Wigan's comeback, you'd be wrong.

They put in a lung-busting set of quickfire passes out wide to Tom Johnstone who touches down at the corner.

What a finish. Max Jowitt, with some jeering Wigan fans behind him, misses the kick.

Wakefield make an immediate response but we're going back upstairs to video referee Jack Smith.

I tell you what, Patrick Mago has made an impact.

The substitution has worked for Wigan.

It was a lovely pass and a very good finish but Wakefield will feel aggrieved by that penalty decision - that is never, ever a penalty.

TRY: Wakefield 12-12 Wiganpublished at 28 mins

    Liam Marshall, goal Adam Keighran

    Here come Wigan!

Shortly after Mason Lino put in that try-saving tackle, Wigan keep it alive, work it wide and Liam Marshall makes a trademark dive to the corner.

Clinical stuff and what you'd expect from Wigan, really.

Adam Keighran sends a pearler of a kick through the posts to add the two and it's all square.

    Wakefield 12-6 Wigan

What a tackle by Mason Lino.

Junior Nsemba is SURELY on his way to racing in for Wigan's second try. But nope, Lino throws himself in his path and wrestles him to ground.

    Wakefield 12-6 Wigan

Isaiah Vagana darts through for Wakefield as they camp out in the Wigan half.

But he spills the ball and Jack Farrimond races off with it.

There's a bit of a tempo to this game, now.

    Wakefield 12-6 Wigan

Better stuff from Wigan now. They send a kick to the corner on the turnovers and the hosts sheepishly punt it out.

It's taken 20 minutes or so but Wigan look a darn sight more dangerous now than even five minutes ago.

On the back of Farrell's tap back, we could see that.

Mago, Johnny-on-the-spot, right place, right time to finish off and score the try.

    Patrick Mago, goal Adam Keighran

    Wigan are off the mark!

Harry Smith makes the kick from 20 metres out, Wakefield fail to deal with the high ball and it bounces off Liam Farrell on the 10-metre line.

Patrick Mago picks it up and runs through unopposed. Nothing wrong with that and it's given.

A timely try for Wigan. And Adam Keighran adds the two. Now we've got a game on our hands.

    Wakefield 12-0 Wigan

Cam Scott motors his way forward and gains ground for Wakefield as they go on the attack again.

Seth Nikotemo is finally held up just over 10 metres out on the turnover but that's a bit too close for comfort if you're Wigan.

    Wakefield 12-0 Wigan

Jonathan Davies has just said on co-commentary that Wigan really need to score next.

I agree. This has been a poor showing from the visitors in the opening stages. Wakefield look comfortable.
