Riley defeats Aswell Jr
Solid fight from Riley but the way he generates power by squaring himself off, plus leaving his chin up, is leaving him wide open to a counter.

Murphy v Evloev
Image source, Getty ImagesIn reality, the winner of tonight's main event between third-ranked featherweight Lerone Murphy and number one-ranked Movsar Evloev, should be next in line for a shot at champion Alexander Volkanovski.
But the UFC has not officially branded it as a number one contender bout for the championship and number six-ranked Jean Silva is waiting to crash the party.
Brazil's Silva has been in London this week, causing a little bit of chaos and claiming that he was personally invited by UFC president Dana White.
Silva claims he is set to jump the queue to fight Volkanovski - a claim that has been shutdown by Murphy.
"Well who knows? [Silva's] 1-1 in his last two. The winner of me and Mosvar fights for the title and it shouldn't be any other way," said Murphy.
"You just never know in this game. It's all about perform a finish. I want it to be undeniable so they can't not give me the shot."

We asked a lot of fighters we spoke to this week who they thought was the biggest name in the UFC this week.
There was no real consensus. What do you think?Lerone Murphy: Islam Makhachev or Ilia Topuria
Michael 'Venom' Page: Alex Pereira
Kurtis Campbell: Alex Pereira or Max Holloway
Mason Jones: UFC moves too fast to bed in superstars
Luke Riley: Paddy Pimblett, Ilia Topuria, Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira

More shots thrown in Riley’s fight than MVP’s whole career!

Murphy v Evloev
Image source, Getty ImagesMovsar Evloev makes his 10th walk to the UFC octagon tonight and he's still looking for his first win inside the distance.
The Russian boasts a very impressive overall MMA record of 19 wins in as many fights, though.
After establishing himself in the UFC, Evloev has demonstrated his ability against some very strong opponents over the past three years.
In May 2023, Evloev put in a Fight of the Night performance when beating two-time featherweight title challenger Diego Lopes by unanimous decision.
Evloev returned to action in January 2024 to beat long-time top-10 ranked Briton Arnold Allen and backed that up with another unanimous decision win over former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling in December 2024.
The 32-year-old saw two slated fights with Aaron Pico fall through last year and will be itching to get back amongst it tonight.

UFC events tend to draw out the big celebrity names and Oasis' Noel Gallagher is cageside for tonight's card.

All judges scored the fight 30-27 in favour of the 26 year-old in his second UFC outing. He improves his record to 13-0.
Riley v Aswell Jr
And we are done. That was a good battle.
Will the judges favour Aswell Jr, who landed more punches, or will they take Riley's excellent defence and apparently heavier shots into account?
Not long now until we find out.
Riley v Aswell Jr
Aswell has Riley down in the centre of the ring, but it's excellent takedown defence from the 26 year-old - he is back on his feet within seconds.
A common theme of this fight has been the Texan getting his oppenent in 'difficult situations' but failing to make any of them count.
Both fighters exchange big shots but again, none of them seem to bother either man.

Riley obviously wants that knockout but he needs to be careful not to overextend.
Riley v Aswell Jr
There has been distinct a lack of leg kicks in the co-main event so far. Could a change in style be the key to victory for either fighter?
Murphy v Evloev
Image source, Getty ImagesLerone Murphy has barely put a foot wrong since embarking on a career as a professional mixed martial artist in 2016.
The Mancunian is unbeaten in 18 fights - winning 17 and drawing one - and has eight victories by knockout.
His latest win, which was claimed via a stunning spinning elbow knockout, against Aaron Pico saw Murphy installed as the number three contender in the featherweight division and with many, including himself, feeling it would be enough to earn a shot at the title.
But that is not how it transpired.
Murphy was overlooked by the UFC, who pitted champion Alexander Volkanovski against Diego Lopes.
"It kind of woke me up to a lot of things, but I understand it," Murphy tells BBC Sport.
"You have to understand it's an entertainment business. It shouldn't be that way but it is that way."
Riley v Aswell Jr
Aswell Jr has Riley is up on the fence yet again at the start of round three, but it's good defence from the Liverpudlian.

In the first round Aswell Jr had a lot of success and was backing Riley up on to the fence but now Riley is holding the centre of the octagon.
It's becoming more difficult for Aswell Jr.
Riley v Aswell Jr
Both fighters have landed some nice combinations in the business ends of round two.
I wouldn't say either fighter looks particularly damaged, but perhaps Aswell Jr looks slightly more aggressive and composed than his counterpart.
A big right hook from Riley right at the claxon - one of the best shots of the fight so far - sets up the final round nicely.

The crowd feels a bit flat after that contest between Michael 'Venom' Page and Sam Patterson to be honest.
You can hear the excitement build every time Luke Riley throws a punch but he's yet to seriously hurt Michael Aswell Jr.
The stand on the opposite side to me have started clapping to try and spark the action into life.
