Davidovich Fokina puffs out his cheeks after missing a backhand, which could have opened a big opportunity.

He may still get one, though!

The Spaniard, on the back foot for much of a 16-shot rally, closes out the point with a sweeping backhand winner for 15-30.

The win for Elina Svitolina means British men's number one Cam Norrie is up next on Court Simonne Mathieu.

Norrie has reached the third round at Roland Garros for the third successive year, following back-to-back wins over French players Benoit Paire and Lucas Pouille.

But he has never progressed beyond this stage on the Paris clay, suffering defeats against Rafael Nadal in 2021 and Russian 21st seed Karen Khachanov last year.

Lorenzo Musetti will provide another stern test for the 27-year-old today. The 21-year-old has enjoyed a productive European clay-court swing, having won 10 of his 14 matches and reaching the Barcelona semi-finals.

That run included a three-set comeback win over Norrie.

Nothing is going right for Djokovic.

This is one of the worst performances I’ve seen from him in a long time. He’s all over the shop.

If Novak Djokovic was on his A-game, he would be totally focused and zoned in. He would just win this match when he gets an opening.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina didn’t have to do an awful lot to break to love.

As expected, no handshake from Ukraine's Elina Svitolina for Russia's Anna Blinkova.

There was some kind of acknowledgement though, looked like a nod and maybe a word, after a fantastic tussle between the pair.

Djokovic completely misjudges a shot that appears to be heading well wide, getting a racquet to it and dropping the ball into the net.

It's not going his way at the moment, in a match which has been full of twists and turns so far.
