    Djokovic 3-4 Draper*

Once again, Djokovic slips, this time as he's returning a serve and that goes long. That was on break point, it's still 15-40 though and Draper is hanging on.

    Djokovic 3-4 Draper*

Draper's having to dig deep again. He's already seen off three break points this match and an over-enthusiastic forehand has far too much juice on it and he's at 0-30.

  3. Dream start for Draperpublished at 14:07 BST 28 June 2021

    BBC Sport commentator

Draper will have been looking forward to this match, you envisage how it's going to happen, how it's going to play out.

This is just a dream start for Draper - this is everything he could have hoped it could be.

    Djokovic 3-4 Draper*

A lovely cushioned drop volley at the net from Djokovic helps him ease through another game in rapid pace.

Draper has not been able to make a dent in most of Djokovic's service games, but got the break in the other one and that's still the difference so far.

More concern as Djokovic slips again, on the same patch behind the baseline facing the Royal Box on the deuce side. Draper also tumbled there a few games ago.

A glare at the slick surface by Djokovic is followed by a wipe of the elbow.

Thankfully he doesn’t look to be too bothered. No grass stains on the pristine white tee, either. Bonus.

  6. 'Unexpectedly quiet'published at 14:05 BST 28 June 2021

Meet Cristobal and his son Julian, who have made the short journey from Streatham. They've got ground passes for today but are yet to see any tennis because of the rain.

They were two of the first through the gates this morning at 10am.

"It was unexpectedly quiet," says Cristobal. "We arrived at 9:10 so we expected a much bigger queue. We were second in the queue and we couldn't quite believe it.

"We used to do The Queue, come here at 7 in the morning and by the time we'd get in it would be 12:30 and they would be halfway through the games."

Cristobal added that he much preferred this year's method of entry, and "100%" wants it to stay for future years.

  7. Draper saves two break pointspublished at 14:05 BST 28 June 2021

    *Djokovic 2-4 Draper

For the second time today, Novak Djokovic takes a tumble on the turf and ends up on his backside. That was on the second break point chance as he skewed a forehand down the line wide.

Again, he seems OK but it's a big risk of injury if that keeps happening.

Draper, just as he had to earlier on, saves a break point to just about cling on to his serve and the advantage.

    Djokovic 2-3 Draper*

Now comes the pressure. A double fault from Draper, following one in his previous service game, helps Djokovic to 15-30 and it soon becomes 15-40 as Draper goes long with a forehand.

    Two break points.

It's one-way traffic on Court One as Aryna Sabalenka batters the serve of Monica Niculescu.

Sabalenka is number four in the world and she's showing why here with a fine blend of hard hitting and subtle net play.

The Belarus player has never reached round three in singles at SW19 despite her lofty ranking.

While Niculescu holds serve to only trail 3-1 in this second set it's a matter of time... and probably not too much of it... before this round-one tie is done.

Not even a double fault, his first of the match, can deny Jack Draper from consolidating that break by holding his own serve. Twenty minutes into this one and the Brit is 3-1 up.

Every shot, every winning point is cheered to the rafters by a half-full Centre Court.

Not many would have seen anything other than a Djokovic straight sets win before we had got started, and obviously a long, long way to go, but Drpaer has certainly not be overawed on his debut so far.

Djokovic said he didn't know much about his opponent, but he's learning fast.

  16. Djokovic mistake and break for Draperpublished at 13:54 BST 28 June 2021

    Andrew Cotter
    BBC Sport commentator

A mistake from the World No. 1 and it is Djokovic who loses his serve first in this match.

Jack Draper played well at Queen's and beat two top 40 players - and he's hit the ground running.

    “Come on Jack!”

Never mind Grealish, Draper is the lad who this part of the country wants to see become a new national hero.

And what a start! There’s an air of disbelief at what they saw in that game. The whopper of a backhand return to bring up the break points absolutely flew.

Djokovic knows he needs to get up a break and put this kid in his spot

Jack Draper is a very good player, I believe he will be a top 20 player. You never know because of injuries and all sorts of stuff, but he loves the limelight and big occasions.
