    *Swan 1-4 Keys

This is better from the 22-year-old, good depth and snappy strokes, she seems to have settled. Katie Swan goes dashing across the baseline to coax a forehand back but tugs it wide 30-30.

Madison Keys fires down an ace to hold, but a much better showing from Swan now.

  2. A nervy debut...published at 16:06 BST 28 June 2021

    Burrage 1-3 Davis*

Great Britain's world number 274 Jodie Burrage has a task on her hands against American Lauren Davis, who is ranked 183 places higher.

The 22-year-old has been doing some work on the practice courts with Heather Watson.

She may well feel some nerves as this is her first ever match in the main draw at a Grand Slam and Davis has duly broken early on to lead 3-1 in the first set.

    Swan 1-3 Keys*

Madison Keys opts for the slice but undercooks it and finds the tape, coming off the strings bluer than a trip to Goodison Park. That lifts Katie Swan and she climbs to advantage before holding when Keys drags a smash into the net. The British qualifier is off the mark!

  4. Postpublished at 16:02 BST 28 June 2021

    *Swan 0-3 Keys

A double fault doesn't help matters from Katie Swan, who hasn't quite found her rhythm yet. Madison Keys wraps a fiery backhand into the gauze off a second serve to get the world 290 off the mark in this service game and she then edges to 30-30.

Keys somehow gets a return over the tape off a slick Swan serve though, and the Brit punches wide.

A chance for a double break for the American.

  5. Tiafoe holdspublished at 16:01 BST 28 June 2021

    Tsitsipas* 4-6 3-3 Tiafoe

We remain on serve on Court One. Stefanos Tsitsipas records another hold to love to move 3-2 ahead in the second set, but Tiafoe still isn't giving anything up and pulls level once more. This is a good battle.

  6. Postpublished at 15:59 BST 28 June 2021

    *Swan 0-3 Keys

Just a bit too good at the moment, Madison Keys.

The 23rd seed clips the tape with a groundstroke but dusts herself down to sling an ace past Katie Swan and hold, backing up that break a moment ago.

  7. 'Great to be back on this special court'published at 15:58 BST 28 June 2021

Novak Djokovic speaking on BBC One: "It feels great seeing everyone and being back on the most special, or sacred, tennis court in the world. I'm very happy I'm able to speak to you after the match. It has been very difficult times for everyone but I'm very glad the sport is back, hopefully you guys enjoyed it and will enjoy the next couple of weeks."

On Jack Draper: "He definitely deserves a round of applause. Only 19, I haven't seen him play too much prior to Queen's where he won a couple of matches against high ranked players. He has done extremely well, he deserves credit and I wish him all the best for the rest of his career.

"I don't recall falling that many times on the court, it was quite slippery. It was a huge honour to walk on this court, for me the most special and I always dreamed of playing and winning Wimbledon as a kid. I try not to take anything for granted when I step on this court. I will work on my movement and slide a bit less."

  8. Keys breakspublished at 15:56 BST 28 June 2021

    Swan 0-2 Keys*

That's a bullet of a backhand from the American, dicing it into the corner and beyond the stranded Brit. A second chance to break for Madison Keys... and this time she gets it. Great line and length from Madison Keys and Katie Swan can only jab a string at it.

  9. Postpublished at 15:55 BST 28 June 2021

    *Swan 0-1 Keys

Madison Keys is making the British qualifier work. Katie Swan thinks she's done enough but then finds herself facing a break. Good hustle from the 22-year-old to fend it off. Deuce.

  10. Postpublished at 15:52 BST 28 June 2021

    *Swan 0-1 Keys

Madison Keys rattles through her first service game with three aces, but Katie Swan shows she can pack a punch of her own as she edges to 30-15 on serve.

  11. Draper's done extremely well - Djokovicpublished at 15:52 BST 28 June 2021

    Djokovic 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-2 Draper

Novak Djokovic is asked about Jack Draper's performance and says: "He definitely deserves a round of applause.

"A youngster I hadn't seen him play too much prior to Queen's and he played pretty well, won matches against high-ranked players.

"Walking on Wimbledon Centre Court for first time, he's done extremely well."

Wimbledon 2021: Great Britain's Katie Swan beats Australia's Arina Rodionova in qualifier

What a moment for Katie Swan, who put an injury-hit year behind her to come through three rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw at Wimbledon and set up a first-round match against American Madison Keys.

"I can't even believe it. I'm so happy," said the 22-year-old, ranked 290th in the world. "I think this is my biggest accomplishment in tennis."

After the tour was halted by the pandemic in March last year, Swan suffered back and wrist injuries, meaning she did not play competitively again until January this year.

She has been trying to regain form and fitness on the ITF Tour - the circuit below the main WTA Tour - and strong performances this week have ended in the ultimate reward of a Wimbledon spot.

After the rain delay, she finally gets the chance to get under way.

  13. Tiafoe holdspublished at 15:46 BST 28 June 2021

    Tsitsipas* 4-6 1-1 Tiafoe

A rapid start to the second set, as Frances Tiafoe responds with his own hold to love.

Two games in about six minutes there. No hanging about.

    Djokovic 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-2 Draper

    Andrew Cotter
    BBC Sport commentator

Big cheer for Djokovic but a big cheer for Jack Draper.

Familiar celebration to all sides of Centre Court but also they make plenty of noise for Draper.

Hope it will lead to more days like this in his future. Let him enjoy this, and take it all in.

All you can ask is that you can give your best - and certainly he seemed to do that.

  16. Tsitsipas holdspublished at 15:44 BST 28 June 2021

    Tsitsipas 4-6 1-0 Tiafoe*

No similar mistakes for Stefanos Tsitsipas in the opening game of this set.

The Greek holds to love at the start of the second, as he seeks to get himself back on level terms.

Game, set and match - Djokovicpublished at 15:41 BST 28 June 2021

    Djokovic 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-2 Draper

A brave effort from Jack Draper, ranked 253rd in the world, but the world number one and five-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic sees off an early scare to move into round two.

Of course it ended with an ace, straight down the middle, fast, swinging and accurate. That's 24 aces and the last 64 for the world number one.

But that won't be the last we see from Draper at Wimbledon. He should be incredibly proud of his efforts today.

An ace, number 24, from Djokovic. 15-0. The next serve can't be returned either. 30-0.

  20. Game and first set Tiafoepublished at 15:40 BST 28 June 2021

    Tsitsipas* 4-6 0-0 Tiafoe

Tsitsipas hits into the net to hand Tiafoe a set point, and another weak return from the Greek fails to get over too.

Frances Tiafoe takes the first set against the world number four and he looks pretty pleased with himself as he takes a seat for a quick breather.
