  8. 'A smart fighter'published at 22:09 BST 1 October 2021

What I saw was a smart fighter. Luke Trainer knows Bahati slows down as the fight goes on. In the first round he didn't do too much, what he did was to keep the jabs and the kicks in his face the whole time.

  9. 'What a war'published at 22:08 BST 1 October 2021

Luke Trainer talking to John McCarthy after his win over Yannick Bahati: "Home soil, I love every single one of you. What a war. I prayed for this, I visualised this every day, I grind every day, I am trying to build a life for my loved ones and all the kids out there that don't have loved ones but deserve love.

"This was a war, I have so much to learn, I got rocked, the first time I ever got rocked, but I came back like a savage. I told everyone I would be a savage, I told everyone there would be violence, I said he would bleed, he bled."

Luke Trainer is definitely the real deal. He has got talent but now it is just about putting it all together.

Very nice job by Luke Trainer. It started out pretty well, he got the takedown and followed up with some big shots.

  14. Round onepublished at 21:55 BST 1 October 2021

An aggressive start by Yannick Bahati but he is caught out as Luke Trainer reacts to a head-kick attempt to put his opponent on the floor.

Bahati takes some hits but manages to get back on his feet but he definitely took some damage and Trainer is able to land a few more shots before the end of the round.

Yannick Bahati offers aggressiveness, the strength and the takedowns. Going into this fight, all he has got to do is close the distance. If he is on top he should have success.

Undefeated prospect Luke Trainer could well be around 225-230 pounds when he steps into the cage tonight. "The Gent" is an absolute unit for light-heavyweight. He faces former EFC middleweight champ Yannick Bahati next.

Yannick Bahati confidently shimmies and bops his way to the cage. He looks well up for this, but so does Luke Trainer as he emerges to the sound of Ready or Not by the Fugees as the crowd cheers.

Luke Trainer is tall, long. He is rangy when it comes to his striking and his takedown ability is insane. When he gets on top he has vicious ground and pound but do not sleep on his submission ability.

Up next England's Luke Trainer faces Yannick Bahati in a light-heavyweight scrap, looking to extend his undefeated run to 5-0.

Bahati is Trainer's toughest test to date and the Briton expects an "absolute war".

"Yannick is a savage," he said. "I have nothing but respect for the guy, but it is a battle of who is the more savage."
