Here's the story behind Matlock Arc, who are playing at Powerleague in Derby this afternoon.....
Matlock Arc are managed by Paul Bryan and were set up in October 2014 by Paul's daughter.
Most players in team are in their 50s but some are "slightly older". They have nearly 30 players now registered .
In November, Derbyshire became the first county in the country to set up a competitive walking football league.

Matlock Arc play one or two matches in a month in the Derbyshire area. Their goalkeeper is aged 68. Their team consists of financial advisers from local banks.
They were aware of the FA People’s Cup last year but never entered because they had just started.

Back to the live action.....
Poor old Marcus. Struggling to get a team together a few hours ago he gets dropped for making a joke, external about one of his rapidly-gathered team-mates.
But his side get beaten 4-0 by Tamar Bridge in their first game without him.
Here they are playing against Ancient Miners today at Goals in Plymouth and despite Marcus making a brilliant save, external, they lose that one 6-5 as well!

Here's another match report - thanks Emdad!
The boys played like warrior poets. The level of skill, determination and guts we displayed blew our opponents away. Don't forget Team Legend had plenty of guile and know how and we used this to great effect; drawing teams in, hitting on the counter and sometimes simply bamboozling them with dinks, feints and drop of the shoulders. Then there were the surprising bursts of pace and swashbuckling goals.
We had turned into a cavalier team with guts of fire. It wasn't Total Football, nor samba, but we were pretty good nevertheless.

While we're now starting another round of matches in two more categories, it's about time we said a big THANK YOU to all of the officials, referees, organisers, sandwich makers, kit cleaners and drivers who made the first round of the FA People's Cup possible this weekend.
There would be no tournament without you.
Talking of Retro Rovers, here's a little story from Jan about how she got involved with them........
Jan Milner is 60 years old and plays for the walking football team, Retro Rovers.
If you're sill not sure whether to start playing the game yourself, let Jan convince you...
Quote Message12th October, 1980 will forever live in my memory. I was 25, playing football and about to catch the ball from a corner when I collided with another player. 16 operations and 20 years later, I now have a titanium knee.

Quote MessageI loved playing football. Back then though it's not like what it is now, other people would say that's not right, girls shouldn’t be seen playing football. I'm so happy to see it’s not the same these days. It took me a while to get back into the game after that accident. It's like a grieving process when it's been such a big part of your life. Slowly but surely I got back into it and now I'm coaching boys and girls and playing walking football! It’s a revolution that I'm privileged to be part of.

Quote MessagePeople I know were unsure to begin with, but I thought it would be a laugh. We now train - I say 'train,' that sounds very professional, I mean we have a kick about - and people come to watch! How great is that? Because we are not too bad, people want to watch us play!

Quote MessageWalking football is different to football. It's more about your touch and your technique. Obviously it's not about running about. Just give it a go it is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Better than any medication a doctor can give you.”
Jan was talking to the Get Inspired team ahead of her game today in Hull. You can hear more about Jan's experience of Walking Football on the BBC Get Inspired site in the coming weeks.

And will the Male Veterans and Walking Football teams be able to beat this?
Image source, FacebookQuote MessageYesterday me & my team "Prittlebrook Friday" managed to lose 41-1 over the four games we played at Southend. Is that the worst result of the weekend?
Daniel Anthony Lince via Facebook, Prittlebrook Friday player
Thanks for the confession Daniel. When I first read it I wondered whether that was one game!
We'll let you know.

As Male Veteran teams across England prepare for their 14:00 GMT kick-off, 6Music's Chris Hawkins is getting to know his team (see 11:27 if you are confused).
