Covents 2 claim the bragging rights in Coventry

    Alex Ewing

Here's our man Alex with a report from Friday night's action...

Without wishing to dish out too many football cliches it really was a game of two halves as Covents 2 (the team in the bibs) came from behind to beat Covents 5-3 in a dramatic under-14s final in Coventry on Friday night.

Covents raced into an early lead with a tidy finish into the bottom left hand corner and at one point lead the game 3-1.

However, a storming second half display from Covents 2 saw them score four second-half goals without conceding.

For those wondering...yes, Covents and Covents 2 are normally one 11-aside team broken into two teams.

Luckily Covents didn't seem to disappointed to lose to their team-mates - good thing as they're playing together on Sunday!

Also a big shout to Sam the keeper of Covents 2 who was named man of the tournament! Top job between the sticks Sam! 👊

  15. What does five-a-side football mean to you?published at 11:00

    #PeoplesCup

If someone asked you what you thought of five-a-side football, what would you say?

    • Something lads play after work
    • Something my brother/dad does
    • A run around at lunchtime at work
    • Something I have to take my kids to
    • Too fast for me to get involved with

Well, for just over 35,000 people this weekend it will mean a whole lot more....
