  2. Shakespeare and the beautiful gamepublished at 14:49

Because football is more than just Sport

With the BBC celebrating the 400th anniversary of the Bard's death, this is timely......

Liam Doyle, a.k.a. Shakespeare's Understudy, is a rapper and poet with a troubled past. The 21 year old says football has kept him on the straight and narrow, helping him stay focused. But don't take our word for it, hear it from the man himself in this video.

Liam plays for the male adult team Pentagon who are playing in Portsmouth this afternoon. Good luck guys, or Break a Leg as the thespians say...or maybe we shouldn't say that?!

  3. Who said football isn't glamorous?published at 14:45

They obviously just have boring footwear

As demonstrated by these players in Manchester, football isn't just about skill, grit and determination. A little bit of fashion sense can also go a long way.

  4. Winning team namespublished at 14:39

    It's not just about football

What do we love about the FA People's Cup? The ingenuity and effort that goes into creating a team name.

Here are just a few of the gems we've noticed so far:

    • Balotellitubbies
    • Expected Toulouse
    • AC A Little Silhouette Of Milan
    • Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels
    • Pathetico Madrid
    • Delph and Safety
    • Atletico Lower Holyhead
    • Who Ate All Depays
    • Neville Wears Prada
    • Tinchy Sneijder
    • Borussia munchenflapjacks
    • Men behaving Chadli
    • Slumdog Mignolet
    • The Has Beens (who have already been and gone)

  12. How Clifford Park Rangers got goingpublished at 13:54

    #PeoplesCup

There's a bit of a background story for Clifford Park Rangers (see pre-match warm-up at 11:49). Here's manager Billy Morrison to explain....

Manager Billy Morrison with Clifford Park Rangers first kit

In the summer of 2012 the kids on the estates had nothing to do. A group of them knocked on my door asking me to enter them into some local tournaments. I made a few phone calls and asked a few questions and found out if I paid £25 you can put them into any tournament. We got a kit together and they did amazingly. I was so proud.

I thought that was it and I was just sitting in my house when they knocked on the door and asked if i could enter them into the Coventry minor league. After a lot of hard work later and having to do my level 1 and 2 coaching courses and first aid course I got them in a league.

They were outstanding. They won the league and got the fair play award in their first season. I was a bit apprehensive about entering time in the league and going on the courses as I found out later in life that I was dyslexic so I struggled with the paper work. The kids have inspired me. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have done the courses. I don't let anything get in my way now. Yes it is a barrier but I get over it. I'm proud of what they have done.

Fabulous work Billy! Here are some of the trophies they've won:
